I don’t really have much use for a laptop table as I pretty much just plunk my netbook onto my lap and go at it. My netbook does not emit much heat, either so I do not really need anything in between my lap and the gadget. However, while I was browsing through Etsy (yes, they do have geeky stuff), I found a laptop table that I really really want.
Dubbed the Stone Laptop Table, this thing is made of – obviously – stone, but it is not any ordinary looking stone. It actually looks like marble to me, but I am not so sure. It does have the same veiny look that marble has and it has a brownish beige hue. The table measures in at 15 3/4″ x 23 3/4″ – that’s for the flat part. It comes with triangular “risers,” which remind me of little chunks of Toblerone by the way. You can use these risers to adjust the angle of the surface to suit your preference while typing away.
I found the seller’s description actually funny as he was saying things about the risers doubling as paperweights when not in use, and so on. I don’t know why I would pay $150 (the cost of the whole thing) just to get some extra paperweights! But I have to say, while the table is quite pricey, I really like its look. Besides, it’s not everyday that you bump into someone who has a specially made stone laptop table.

2Thanks for featuring my laptop table. It is made of travertine and can be used for many other uses besides your laptop. I know it’s expensive (the stone and materials alone cost me close to $50), so I wanted to make it as useful as possible. I have one I made for myself and generally it is the coffee table centerpiece and usually has all sorts of stuff on it, from candles to a spot to put our hot and cold drinks. Thanks again, and just an FYI, I have lowered the price recently.
