With the beginning of June just two weeks away, it’s about time to take a look at upcoming anime for the summer 2009 season.

As with previous seasons, Chartfag and Denizen have already begun composing their list of all the new anime being aired. On the list so far are familiar anime like Spice and Wolf, and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei returning as sequels, as well as many new titles. One of the more anticipated series this season would have to be Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, but there are other good titles to look forward to like Umineko no Naku Koro ni and CANAAN. Other anime which I think can go either way are: Bakemonogatari, Sora no Manimani, and Taishou Yakyuu Musume. Of course, for those looking for generic anime, Umi Monogatari looks like a typical transforming-girls-fighting-evil anime. There’s also some harem anime in the form of Princess Lover! and Seitokai no Ichizon, with the latter seemingly more on the cute side.
