Is Norton cool enough to have its own comic book?
Norton, purveyor of Internet security products, is trying to be cool with the introduction of its own online comic book series set in the city of Netropolis: “While you’re visiting, there is something you need to know to survive in Netropolis. There are no police here; no Emergency Services. You are alone in this city of darkness and light, alone and vulnerable. That is why we built Norton HQ – a beacon of security against the dangers lurking around every corner. A place you can trust when you come to Netropolis, a place where someone will watch over you.” Read more »
Swiss Knife And USB Stick In One
Ahh, guys, I am torn. Earlier, I wrote about the LED Binary Wristwatch that we are (were?) going to give our dad for Father’s Day. I thought that no one could top that gift idea. Then I saw this (yep, take a look at that photo on the right). The Swiss Flash USB Knife. The first thing that entered my mind when I saw this beauty over at Think Geek: MacGyver is back with a vengeance! With this gadget, MacGyver can take over the world of high tech computers! Using technology to live more healthily: Wii Sports anyone?
An interesting survey result came out today which showed that many Americans would like their physician to use technology to encourage them to a healthier lifestyle. Two out of three said they’d like to receive emails that reminded them of how to live more healthily. The survey also showed that many people turn to web sites when they feel ill or have some other ailment, but don’t find it so easy to get information on staying healthy in the first place. Microsoft sponsored the survey, pushing its own HealthVault system in the process, though I think it missed a trick in not touting its new Natal system that could surely Read more »
Binary Watch For Dad
Father’s Day is almost here – have you gotten a gift for your geeky dad yet? My father is not really a full blown geek, but having two daughters who are self-proclaimed geeks and a son-in-law who everyone calls a geek is fast making him into one as well. We got our *smart* brains together and came up with this perfect gift for dad, who is so into watches. Thanks to ThinkGeek, we found the ultimate watch for him – the LED Binary Watch. Obviously, it uses binary to tell the time. There are 10 LEDs on the watch face, each of which indicates the numbers in the binary sequence. Read more »

Internet Explorer 6 still hanging out in the wild
It’s a sorry state of affairs: Internet Explorer version 6x still has the largest market share of any web browser, with two in five users still using it. Internet Explorer 7x is close behind, with Firefox version 3 claiming one in ten users and the rest straggling behind. It’s news that’s sure to wind up web developers, like those behind the Kill IE6 project. Read more »
Cool guys don't run away from explosions
Who doesn’t remember at least one of these cliche movie scenes? The hero who just set a building on fire and coolly walks off, without haste. Tarantino and Keitel in From Dusk Till Dawn? It is a much used and ridiculous cliche in modern film. On Sunday during the MTV Movie Awards 2009, the station compiled a video of several of these cool dudes walking away from explosions. I do not know if we needed to get the special _bonus_ of Neil Diamond though. [Via Geeks are Sexy] Read more »
Motorized Lego Delorean
Tyler Clites (Legohaulic), Lego guru par excellence, has released an other piece of Lego art. This time he built a Lego DeLorean, completely with motor and remote control. No words on the maximum speed and chances that he will be able to time-travel with this Lego Delorean are rather slim.Still a nice piece of Lego art, which we always admire here at the FG HQ. Watch a Flickr video of the Delorean zooming round after the jump. Read more »
Yo-yo inspired MP3 player
French designer Nicholas Cinguion created the S.MP3, an yo-yo inspired MP3 player without yo-yo functionality. Instead the wire is the tangle for the headphones. At the end of the day, a really nice conceptual design. No word on the specs though. Read more »
