Improved iPhone audio recording with the flexible mini capsule mic

Improved iPhone audio recording with the flexible mini capsule mic

We don’t bother with mainstream gadgets much on the blog now (you can discuss that on the forums to your heart’s content) but this little add-on for all iPhone models, which promises to make audio recording a lot better, caught my eye. I can see why it’s aimed at 3G S users, because when you’re video recording the built-in mic is angled the wrong way (given that in the past it’s only really been used for making phone calls and for playing ocarina). Michael Jackson's Moonwalker: Bad Ass for its time

Not that the guy’s already gone but truth be told, Moonwalker which was released in the mid 90′s in the arcades was actually one of the more engaging arcade games of the time. i remember myself in my teens with three of my friends — all playing as MJ. We’d spend Saturday afternoon beating the game. For its time, Moonwalker had spectacular graphics, faithful and catchy background music and charge moves — yeah, the charge moves where’ you’d press and hold the attack button and MJ would moonwalk while charging up a ball of energy. And of course, who could forget the special dance moves that would nuke an entire Read more »

Oxford University Press Dictionaries Go Mobile

Oxford University Press Dictionaries Go Mobile

I still remember the first dictionary that my parents gave to me – a big thick green book with the words MERRIAM WEBSTER splashed all over it. I was in third grade, and I thought that it was the coolest book I’ve ever hard. We were required to have it in school, but I would always take it home with me; keeping it beside me in case I ran across a word that was unfamiliar to me. While not everyone might have a fascination for dictionaries, I suppose that we can all see the value in having one handy, especially for students. And for those who do not care much Read more »

Take Pictures Even When You’re Alone With The Bottle Cap Tripod

Take Pictures Even When You’re Alone With The Bottle Cap Tripod

That sounds kinda pathetic, doesn’t it? Who takes pictures of themselves when they’re alone? HAH! I can name more than 10 people who do! Come on, you have to admit it – sometimes, you just feel like playing with your digital camera and uploading those narcissistic pictures onto Facebook or your blog. Okay, maybe not everyone has that urge but I can think of countless other situations wherein the Bottle Cap Tripod will come in handy. Read more »

Square Enix teaser page may be for new FF game for NDS

Last week, Square Enix launched a new teaser site. The original page only had a sketch of a village and a very conspicuous number “4″, but right now, a visit to the page will reveal three people — a boy wielding a sword and two girls riding atop a dragon. Quite intriguing, isn’t it? But Square Enix’s attempt at creating mystery might be all for naught. Japanese magazine Weekly Shonen Jump may have actually jumped the gun on the company. Scans of the magazine showed Square Enix’s new game Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden for the DS. The game will be a turn based RPG that will arrive Read more »

Blizzard removes LAN Multiplayer on Starcraft II

Blizzard removes LAN Multiplayer on Starcraft II

Without a doubt, Blizzard’s upcoming sequel Starcraft II is one of the most anticipated games in recent memory. The first Starcraft created such hardcore fan appreciation that up to this day — 11 years after it was released — thousands of people still play the game. That is unprecendented and anyone would be hardpressed to think of any game that gains this level of longevity. One of the reasons for the fans’ continued support for Starcraft, aside from the deep, strategic gameplay is the fact that you can play it with your friends and mount frenetic multiplayer battles during LAN parties. Nothing beats having a heated game in a room Read more »
