Geeks make twin T-shirts

This is how twins are made.
The first pair were obviously conceived by Mac fans.

Awesome Halloween Pumpkin Carvings For Geeks

Who said geeks don’t celebrate Halloween? I am willing to bet a month’s salary (not much, I have to admit) that there will be countless Spocks, Darth Vaders, and other similar characters at parties this weekend. But have you ever thought of carving that pumpkin based on the current social media trends? [...]

Alright! Marvel fans. This it, bring some of your favorite Marvel Comics characters without worrying about accidentally folding or damaging you Marvel collection. The iPhone App Comics has just gone public and is now a free download from the iTunes Store, and it brought along some of your favorite Marvel Comics available for in-app purchase [...]

Patch 3.3 is just around the corner and here are five (5) features we can all look forward to!
1. Cross Server LFG – Just like the PVP Battleground, we will be able to group with other players from other servers in the same battlegroup! I’m a little intrigued with this feature since it was also [...]

Wal-Mart To Have Their Own Geek Squad

Reuters reported last week that Wal-Mart is going to have their own version of the Geek Squad – and they’re going to try to be the best at it! The giant chain store is supposed to be offering their customers support which will give them home service in assisting the setting up of products [...]

Interactive LED coffee table could be so much more

At one level I like the idea of this coffee table. Yes, it’s ludicrously expensive — $1,500 for a small table up to $2,100 for a large one — but it has a certain cool factor to it.

It contains 480 super-bright LEDs and 24 infrared optical sensors to provide visual feedback when an area of [...]

Halloween Robot: The Rovin’ Pumpkin

What more do you need for a simple, (slightly) scary robot this Halloween?
Constructed from some simple bits of LEGO, servo motor, LEDs and simple microchip, the Rovin’ Pumpkin isn’t exactly a hit on the dance floor, but with its glowing green eyes and sneaky little movements, it could scare a few trick or treaters this [...]

State of the Multiverse 32

I was going to title today’s column ‘Pointless Comics Books’ after reading the finale of The Last Days Of Animal Man. I said before how much I like Buddy Baker, but after reading all six issues, I feel cheated. Gerry Conway, pleasant as his writing is, is no Grant Morrison, so the appearance of [...]

Glam It Up With The Tetris Dress

You gotta love this dress by Erin of A Dress A Day. I came across it over at Geekologie, and I have to say that I fell in love! You see, I am NOT a dress person. I am more of a jeans and shirt gal, putting comfort high above fashion. [...]

GeoCities becomes ReoCities before your very eyes

Did you have a GeoCities website before Yahoo! closed it down last week?
Feeling nostalgic?
If so, fear not, because a lot of the massive online neighbourhood has been rescued and now lives on at Reocities.com.
There’s a fantastic timeline of the making of Reocities which proves that it was no mean feat to pull off.

Have you seen any ads for Windows 7 yet?
I don’t know what they look like where you are, but in Britain, Microsoft’s TV ads extend the “I’m a PC” mantra and now suggest that it’s the users who told Microsoft how to design Windows 7.

“It was my idea”.
Nice tactic, Microsoft.

State of the Multiverse 31

As for Ant-Man, he is successful in escaping Osbourne’s clutches, but the escape route he has to take? Euuwwwww! I’m not gonna spoil that one for you, just don’t read this issue while you are eating.

I’m not a huge fan of coffee vending machines, but that’s usually because they “brew” such atrocious sludge that’s barely worth drinking for the caffeine hit. Give me a professionally trained barista or, if I’m at home, a small but perfectly formed coffee machine and I’m set.

Having said that, this concept coffee machine does look [...]

TwitterPeek for the Tweet Geek

Can you believe it? Are we users so addicted to Twitter, tweets, twittering and retweets enough for an electronics manufacturer to  consider releasing a Twitter stand-alone device?  Believe it or not but it’s true, the TwitterPeek gadget was made for the sole purpose of doing all your Twitter activities.

PETMAN: Slightly freaky walking robot prototype

I love the advancement of robotics to produce machines that approach humanlike movement. The PETMAN is a cool creation, but ever so slightly freaky.

I hurt one of my legs last week and I swear I was walking a bit like this robot when it reaches 3.2mph (granted, I couldn’t walk that fast).
PETMAN’s main purpose is [...]

Google’s suggestions close to the truth?

Mundo Geek has taken a screenshot of a very common sight — the Google recommendation box that pops up when you start searching for something.
Yeah it’s a silly game, but quite fun. Taking it further, here are some more that are worth taking a look at:
Geeks are…

Nerds are…
