Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~

Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~

One anime from last season that I think deserves more credit is Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~. Based on the game Phantom of Inferno, the anime revolves around a Japanese tourist (codenamed Zwei) who is forced to become an assassin in the American underworld. Under the tutelage of Ein, nicknamed “Phantom” for being the deadliest assassin, Zwei trains to become the next “Phantom” while trying to convince himself that he’s not doing anything wrong. All The Right Reasons To Smile

All The Right Reasons To Smile

Smileys or emoticons – whatever you want to call them, they have proliferated everyday communication the world over. From text lingo to chat lingo to e-mail – emoticons are the rave these days. Perhaps because they transcend language barriers, emoticons are use by practically everyone. Then again, there are those who have had enough of these “cute” little things. I can name a LOT of people who would call you out for using emoticons in your e-mails. I have to admit, though, that I do like to use a smiley or two every now and then; but what do you think of brightening up your home with emoticons? Take a Read more »

Hankering For A Taste Of Rubik’s Cube

Hankering For A Taste Of Rubik’s Cube

I am talking about literally tasting! No, I have not gone bonkers – why would anyone get a hankering for Rubik’s cube as a meal or a snack? Then again, you probably have not seen these wonderful concoctions yet. Now does that look familiar? How about this other one? These are cakes that were made by some really creative AND geeky minds. Now who’s to say that creative and geeky do not go together? The first cake was baked by Sarenea for someone’s piano recital. Her post says that the special guy is called Corvat (now that’s a nice name!) and I bet he got a thrill out of his Read more »

How Many Digital Imaging Gadgets One Could Possibly Have?

How Many Digital Imaging Gadgets One Could Possibly Have?

I’m not a professional photographer although most of my friends are inclined to consider me as such. But when asked if I am a pro, I’d always reply that I’m more of a photo hobbyists/enthusiasts. Anyway, that’s not the subject of this article but what I really want to know is just how many digital cameras do you have right now? To make it more fun, let’s include phone cameras. And to make it even more fun, let’s include the cameras in your household. Read more »

My first computer: Atari 400 8-bit

My first computer: Atari 400 8-bit

I really wish I had my old Atari 400 computer to hand. I think it’s still at my parents place, though they might have thrown it out — I can’t remember. I’m reminiscing about the Atari 400 — my first real computer. As the ad below shows, it was a bit of the poor relation to the Atari 800 – less pricy but less memory. I’m not sure if that keyboard was supposed to repel spills, but I remember getting quite adept at typing on it. Read more »

REBELS Annual 1, the Warlord Starro

I’ve always liked Starro as a villain. There’s something about a giant mind controlling starfish that you just can’t hold a candle to. My first exposure to him was during my first exposure to the entire DCU, during the CRISIS On Infinite Earths. What a jumping on point eh? In my early teenage years, I picked up #9 of CRISIS, as Brainiac gathered his army of villains without number to take over three of the five remaining earths. This was my first exposure to that lovable tyrant. In Brainiacs satellite Starro lumbered in the background, appearing again later in the massive battle on Earth-S. That was all I knew, but Read more »
