State of the Multiverse 39

Realm Of Kings #1

If like me, you have enjoyed movies such as In The Mouth Of Madness and Dagon; then you are probably familiar with the works of H.P. Lovecraft. A truly dog-eat-dog model of the universe, it is a dark and nihilistic universe, that leaves a stain on your soul the more exposure to it you receive. A stain that is strangely seductive. ELSE Handset Offers Something that Can't Be Done by a Mobile Phone

ELSE Handset Offers Something that Can't Be Done by a Mobile Phone

Frankly, I’m having a hard time understanding what the ELSE handset by ELSE mobile is offering.  The Else handset was recently launch to some press people and ELSE Mobile’s business partners. I mean, it’s kind of vague when you say – a device that has the phone as one of its application, and a the user being the centre of the mobile device. Read more »

Creative Unveils 3rd Gen Vado HD Camcorder

So, right after Cisco announced its upcoming Flip Mino HD camcorder with Wi-Fi feature, here comes one of its staunch rival, Creative announcing the 3rd generation Vado HD camcorder. Unfortunately, unlike the new Flip Mino HD camcorder, this one doesn’t come with Wi-Fi connectivity features but instead wallops  4GB of storage which the upcoming Flip Mino probably won’t have. Wounding Potential of an Eraser

Wounding Potential of an Eraser

People who have seen the anime Bakemonogatari will remember a certain character named Hitagi Senjouahara who uses regular stationary as deadly weapons. In the anime, Hitagi has been seen either carrying or using items like pens, pencils, protractors, rulers, box cutters, scissors, and of course her favourite weapon: the stapler. That’s pretty much everything you would expect a student to use in school, but there is one very common item that Hitagi never uses: the eraser. The reason why Hitagi never uses the eraser has, however, been answered in the comic below. Note thatsince this is Japanese, the panels are read from top right to bottom left. Read more »

Venturer HD camcorder: rugged HD video capture

Venturer HD camcorder: rugged HD video capture

Pocket-sized video cameras capable of shooting in full high definition video are fairly common now, with the Flip Mino HD probably one of the best known, and most celebrity endorsed, but there are other, cheaper, more versatile options on the market too. Take the Venturer HD camcorder. It’s still small, but it is built into a more rugged housing so it’s able to stand up to things I wouldn’t put my Flip (or any standard camcorder, come to that) through. It also has a swivel camera head for lining up shots more easily, or getting the angle just right when mounted on a helmet or clothing, and it even has Read more »

When Travel And Geek Collide

When Travel And Geek Collide

Statistics show that travel peaks during holiday periods – and we are at the season where one holiday comes after the next. Those who have traveled at least once during a holiday period would know that while the trip may be fun overall, the actual transit time may give you the biggest headache you’ve ever had. Good thing for us, we can find all sorts of gadgets and toys to lessen the headache that traveling can bring. Here are some of my favorites – some I have and more on my wish list. Read more »

A Geek’s Thanksgiving List

A Geek’s Thanksgiving List

Thanksgiving is less than a week away, and for those who celebrate this holiday, things are probably getting quite hectic at this point. For those who do not really give a darn about Thanksgiving, why not take the time to reflect and think about what you have to be thankful for? I actually got the idea from Matt Blum over at Geek Dad, who came up with a list of 10 Geeky Things To Be Thankful For. It inspired me to create my own list – albeit a shorter one, with a couple of items similar to his. Here goes. Read more »
