WoWeekly: What's Your Biggest Noob Mistake In WoW?
I would say that my biggest noob mistake happened during Vanilla WoW days. My former guild was still raiding Molten Core back then and we’ve been spending weeks and weeks trying to get Ragnaros down. These were the days when summoning stones didn’t exist and every time you wipe, you have to run ALL the way back to wherever you wiped. These were the days when shaman ankhs and warlock soulstones were called “wipe-prevention tools”. So after 3 hours of raiding on day 2, we reach Ragnaros. The Raid Leader briefly explains the fight for those who aren’t familiar. We all buff up (I remember the days when buffing was Read more »
Happy 5th Birthday, Mozilla Firefox!
Can you believe it? It’s been five years since this awesome Internet browser was first launched! I still remember using it for the first time – a couple of months after it was released – and vowing to myself that I would never use Internet Explorer again. Yes, that vow has been kept conscientiously; and I am willing to bet an arm and a leg that a lot of you have been thanking the powers that be for Firefox as well! Read more »
Benq Offers Black Friday Discount for the GP1
Earlier in the year, we posted about the Benq GP1, an ultraportable LED projector which came out in the market this June. I actually have this projector (thanks to Benq), and I must say I’ve found it very useful when going to clients’ offices for presentations. It’s lightweight, quite bright, and simple enough to use. It’s also a great addition to my home theater system. Benq has recently tipped Forever Geek that it has lowered the price of the normally $499 Benq GP1 to $399. You can purchase the projector from the Benq online store. Use promo code earlyblkfriday to avail of the discount. The Benq GP1 features a 100 Read more »
How Many “Screens” Do You Have At Home?
When I say screens, I mean the display thingie that you look at when you use your gadgets. I just read about a study carried out in South Australia which shows that people there have almost five times as many screens as the residents in each home. At first, I thought to myself, “Big deal!” The more I thought about it, though, I realized that it is indeed an interesting piece of trivia. Read more »
State of the Multiverse 35
It was convoluted, one could say continuity heavy, composed from a facile idea, and wiped itself from continuity before the story had even ended. I loved every single minute of it! Read more »

The Edge: Your Netbook And E-book Reader In One
I love the name, but will the gadget make us fall in love as well? I stumbled upon a new gadget that promises to satisfy the Internet cravings of those on the go while at the same time provide an excellent e-book reading experience. You know how the colorful screens of “ordinary” netbooks are not that conducive to reading (especially in broad daylight)? Well, this gadget guarantees to get rid of that problem. Read more »
Disney Cars that Make Sure You'll Never Miss an Important Email Again
How’s Lightning McQueen and the other Disney Cars that twinkle when you have a new email sounds to you? Well, you might want to get the Disney Cars USB Email Alert from USB Brando. I’m not really sure if they are the same company that sells those leather phone cases. But anyway, this USB Email Alert device supports Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook Express and those POP3 email accounts. It works in the background just like your normal browser-based email alert service. The car will emit a peculiar sound effect or twinkle everytime you receive an email or when there too many unread emails in your inbox. Here’s the fun part, the Read more »
Save space with the Three Dee Power Socket
Until such a time as wireless power becomes affordable and ubiquitous, we’re always going to struggle with the need for multiple power outlets for all the gadgets we run. While this Three Dee Power Socket design concept can’t do anything to help about the tangle of wires that emanate from peripherals and turn into plastic spaghetti, it could at least save some space and make the power strip or extension cord redundant.
