…a PlayStation 3 console all done up in gold. Wishful thinking? Perhaps, but it IS possible to get your hands on one. Sony has been struggling with its revenue from the PS3 console, but it was able to weather the storm and even released a new version (the slim) this year. Who would have thought that they’d make a golden console, though?
A couple of weeks ago, just in time for the Christmas rush, Computer Choppers made PS3 fanboys’ mouths water when they showed off the 24kt Gold PlayStation Slim. Obviously, the specs are the same with the regular PS3 Slim, but this one glitters oh so much! Plating aside, you also get two controllers – both 24kt gold plated – and a 1-year warranty. For $4,999, I’d actually want more than a year’s warranty, wouldn’t you???
Computer Choppers is actually well known for pimping up gadgets and upping the price, presumably for those who have a lot of extra cash to burn and want to have gadgets that have that edge. They have all sorts of golden toys – Blackberry and Macbook. Other finishes included platinum and multi-colored anodized material.
So I was thinking, if I shout out to the Universe real loudly, maybe it will hear me? And while I am at it, might as well reach for the stars and wish for this golden PS3 Slim. Oh, and why not ask for a golden Sony Bravia (though I didn’t see one in the Computer Choppers’ web site) so I have a matching TV?
