“Make everyday Christmas” is the age old proverb that is taught to us. The act of gift giving should extend beyond Christmas — and guess what? Because it is so easy to do in Facebook, it’s starting to get annoying. On the other hand, maybe I should feel blessed to have so many “friends” (I add everybody) sending me presents from Farmville, Fishville, Cafe World, Mafia Wars, etc. Wow, Santa! What did I do to deserve this? Was I a good boy on the Internet this 2009!? I must have been!!

Simultaneously though, I’m being hounded by the same “friends” for similar presents, like the green and blue presents from Farmville. Whatever those are. I just signed up so my mom could add me up and expand her farm. It’s a leveling up thing. Gee. Sign of the times.

So my general observation for the holidays is that FREE gift giving on the Internet, especially with social networking can be rather annoying when it’s treated like the same old spam we receive on our walls. If I were you, give a real gift and buy him or her something special, you cheapskate.
