Fellow geeks, we must do our duty. Only through our combined efforts will Barbie’s new profession for 2010 be .. a Computer Engineer. Every year, Barbie gets laid off from work. And at the start of the year, she resolves to excel in a new career but as she can’t make up her mind, WE have to help her out through a listing of job opportunities. You gotta love her for trying though.

The other choices are: Environmentalist, News Anchor, Architect, and Surgeon. In as much as Barbie would like to be an environmentalist, she is made of plastic. The other jobs are great too … but it’s only now we have something right out of the box. Well, it does sound very “general” if you think about it, but in its quest to simplify a choice of jobs to the general public, it would be very hard to sell “CSS developer” or “social media evangelist” or “blogger” as mainstream professions (even if we very well know what they are today).

So go out and vote! We have till February, so please spread the word! BARBIE MUST BE A COMPUTER ENGINEER! Then we can all add 2010 Barbie to our list of collectibles! Do your part!
