There’s a reason why divers shun going for Panasonic when shooting underwater. Despite the really great cameras, it is almost impossible to find an underwater housing that’s compatible with the latter barrage of imaging devices such as the LUMIX LX3 and now, the micro 4/3 GF-1.
I found this on sale today: finally, a housing for the GF1 for underwater shooting. The beautiful aluminum casing is made by 10bar and allows slots for the following lenses: 20mm, 45mm Macro, 14-45mm zoom and 7-14mm Wide zoom lenses.
10bar is really the only third party manufacturer that makes decent underwater casings for the Lumix series of Panasonic. This is peculiar, as the LX3, despite its huge following can’t afford a custom casing from Panasonic themselves whereas Sony and Canon can easily come up with something for the W and T series (SONY) and the G9 and G10 for Canon (which usually flood, but still!).
The GF-1 housing will set you back a heavy USD $1,500.00. It’s really just as expensive as the midrange casings for any DSLR but remember, you’re getting a micro four thirds camera here that can also do video.

Do you have a link for this? Also, do you know if it’d fit a Lumix G1?
Cheers
