ie6 funeral Funeral Service for Internet Explorer 6: Be Advised

Yeah sure everything you want we can incorporate, but as a small favor, can we just stop supporting IE6? Heard that line before from your designer on record? Well, that’s IE6 for you. Well, you are all cordially invited to attend the funeral that will put to rest all emotional impediment on misaligned forms, malicious code, CSS gone wild… well you get the picture.

It’s about time they put IE6 to rest in the form of a solemn event. IE6 pretty much tainted the reputation of Internet Explorer as a brand and whenever people refer to Microsoft’s browser as being buggy and the source of all frustration, they aren’t referring to IE7 or IE8 but to its predecessor that pained the hearts of many a web developer and user.

On Thursday, March 4, 2010, at 7:00 p.m., we’ll gather with fellow IE6 friends and loved ones at Forest Room 5, 2532 15th Street, Denver, CO 80211-3902 to pay our respects.

How To Get There

Happening today, the death of IE6 will take place as an actual funeral with viewing. If you can’t be physically present, you can always follow the updates on Twitter or you can also opt to send flowers. Hey, Microsoft sent some over.

RIP, finally, IE6.
