He Strikes Again. San Francisco This Time. Banksy. Know Him?

Sometimes you just have to admit that you’re doing it totally wrong. I never thought it would happen to my beloved ForeverGeek but it seems that the day has come.

When you search a popular geek site for Banksy and your query returns you zero results, you know you’ve done it all wrong.

No.results.at.all. Zero, zilch, noppes, nada, null.

Of course our task as a great bunch of helpful geeks should now be to link you up with the necessary links to Banksy’s homepage and Wikipedia entry but we are not going to do that. We all know how that ends. When was last time you visited Wikipedia and 20 minutes later you had actually left the public encyclopaedia or did still remember why you visited the reference work?

Hey, you! Stop editing my entry!

But I digress. Banksy. He’s a legend. Even though he’s Brit. A legend among popular creationists, artists. A street artist. Provocative. He excels in his FTW! attitude.

Recently he hit San Francisco and there seems to be a background story to things. Not that long ago he had a piece removed in an Art Heist by the infamous Doug Christmas of Ace Gallery, Los Angeles.

Only some weeks later two new pieces by the infamous Brit now were spotted in San Francisco by 2cauldrons who uploaded them to his Flickr account. If you like street art, you definitely should follow 2cauldrons on Flickr btw. There’s is no doubt that the picture above a reference to the lifted piece in LA is.

The second piece was found in Chinatown SF and apparently not everyone enjoys Banksy’s work as can be seen on this note which was stuck next to the artwork.

Translation:Please, before you remove this graffiti, rumors are that police are investigating, please wait until next week or the end of April

Now you can visit Banksy’s website and his Wiki entry.

I’m Chinese. The Chinese in the last pic is totally nonsense. It seems to be translated from other languages using Google Translate.
Please, don’t make fake things just to be funny.

  2. Franky says:

Could you please translate it for us then? That is the translation provided on the Flickr account.

Help us with the translation and we will add your translation to the entry. :)

    “He’s a legend. Even though he’s Brit.”
    a) Get your grammar correct! He’s brit?, he’s british or he’s a brit
    b) He’s a lot more creative than american artists.
    Get it right next time
