Anyone that watches anime can tell you that it can be about anything, and when I say anything, I really mean it. Just to show you what I mean, I have compiled a list of 10 anime that I’m sure no one (or at least very few people) would have thought of unless they were drunk or high. Akikan Anyone who has been to Japan will know that there are vending machines everywhere, and they sell everything from the regular stuff like snacks and drinks, to weirder things like underwear and lobsters. One thing that they don’t sell, however, are girlfriends, but that’s where Akikan comes into the picture. This Read more »

Funny Star Wars Pic: The Imperial Procession
Being the geek girl that I am, this deviantART from ~MSipher just totally made my day! Aside from the witty caption, the pink R2-D2 (or R2-KT, which is real and not just a pink painted R2-D2 by the way) right smack in the middle of the all the ‘men’ just totally cracks me up. For some weird reason, I see the R2-KT as some naughty little robot girl trying to be one of the big boys. Lol. [ Image property of ~MSipher ] Read more »
The Death of the Floppy Disc
Friends, loved ones. We are here today to pay our final respects to the 3.5″ Floppy Disc. I’m sure many of you may be surprised to hear that this once respected staple of modern computing is still around. In fact, Sony has still been making and selling them in Japan — and even sold about 12 million of them just last year. Today’s data storage devices may be shinier, Flash-ier (get it?), and yes, capable of holding three gazillion more terabytes of information. But the DVDs and thumb drives of the 21st Century are grandchildren of the late, great Floppy Disc. After the burial, a private ceremony will be held for Read more »
"Epic Misney", the ultimate Disney Marvel Cross-Over
Here at ForeverGeek news aren’t our top priority, there are already enough sites taking care of that. What we do though is report about cool stuff we find on ‘tinternetz. Cool internet iz cool. When the whole world and there three nephews were still discussing Disney’s acquisition of Marvel, we brought you Marvel Land in Dubai. That’s how we roll. And how we continue to roll. Another thing to cool not to report is “Epic Misney” by John T. Campbell. The ultimate Marvel-Disney cross-over. Picture stolen without authorization, but THIS, this we consider NEWSWORTHY! And you should go ahead and buy your print from T Campbell! Read more »
The walking bookcase
You know how it is. You’ve got hundreds of books that you need to take along while you walk places. One solution is to build yourself a bookcase in the shape of a giant hamster wheel, like this guy did. This thing must weigh a ton with all those books inside, but the upside is that you’ll get a great workout as you walk. It looks like something out of a future Ikea catalog, but it’s actually a one-of-a-kind art installation at a college in Denmark, built by artist David Garcia. He calls it “Archive II,” and describes it this way: Inspired by ancient travelling libraries from the Far East, which visited Read more »
So you want your own model train set…
Of course many of us have had our train set in childhood. I myself had a Marklin and enjoyed it until 11 or 12. After that, of course the usual suspects started to become more important in life and that many years later my interests sounded more like ‘girls, booze and parties’ than Marklin could phonetically be twisted. Still, there are enough of nerds out there who have given hope to get laid up and try to spend their time positively. Constructively. Finding a cure for cancer? Screw dat, let’s build a model train set. First you’ll need something like this. You’ll also need some sheep… Read more »
Angel Beats: The Mixing Pot
Angel Beats is a mixed-media project involving the companies Key, Aniplex, Dengeki G’s Magazine, and PA Works. Each company has their own specialty that they’re bringing into the project: Key is doing the story-writing and music, G’s Magazine is handling the publications, while Aniplex and PA Works are doing the animation. Although it is a mixed-media project (meaning it will be released as an anime, manga, and light novel) the series is really focused around the anime, which is now into its fourth episode. While Key’s past works (such as Kanon, AIR, and Clannad) were a huge success due to their originality and unique characters, many have pointed out that Read more »
Shakespeare And Geeks
April 23 is traditionally celebrated as Shakespeare’s birthday, although Shakespeare geeks would know that this day isn’t really when he was born. In fact, he died on the 23rd of April 1616. Since his exact date of birth isn’t known, this day has been designated as the celebration for his birthday. Isn’t that pretty cool? Anyhow, even if it has been several days since this date, I thought it would be fun to point out how you could celebrate the life of one of the greatest – if not THE greatest – writers who lived. Geekosystem has compiled a pretty cool list of ways by which you can celebrate the Read more »
Twitwee, The Best Twitter Clock Ever
I don’t know how I’ve missed this so far but then again I only started writing here again, right? So even news which isn’t too old still is totally fresh, got it?! Ok. Twitwee. Sounds like Gary Vaynerchuck’s whatever online social media projects or something like that but it’s lots better. Of course it’s all about Twitter but there are no celebrities involved, even no geek celebrities on twitter. So what is it then? TV? Wrong again. It’s a Twitter Cuckoo Clock. The Twitwee Clock is a modified Cuckoo Clock that wirelessly connects to the internet and constantly checks for new status updates or search results received from the Twitter Read more »
