Splitterbot does just what a standard audio splitter does, but cuter

Splitterbot does just what a standard audio splitter does, but cuter

I feel just a little shame posting this Splitterbot guy just after some important leakage, but the fact is that anything with a little robot face on it has to be worth a look, even if it’s more expensive and barely more functional than a standard audio splitter. Yes, indeed, the Splitterbot is a friendly little white guy (I mean he’s made from white plastic) who sits on your keychain waiting for your need to share a banging tune with one of your mates. At this point, his head conveniently comes off (completely, mind you, not just tilting back like our R2-D2 trash can) so you can plug him into Read more »

iPhone 4G leaked

iPhone 4G leaked

As we speak, Apple is probably on the phone with a team of lawyers that are preparing to dive-bomb a popular gadget blog. Last week, a lost iPhone 4G prototype turned up in a bar in Redwood City, California. It quickly became the holy grail of tech devices, and Gizmodo managed to get its hands on it. Not only that, but they disassembled it, and are now convinced that it’s not a hoax. Gizmodo reports that gone is the tapered, metallic back, in favor of a flat, plastic back panel made to allow 4G access to work with minimal interference. An aluminum border outlines the sides, and the front sports a Read more »

Asuka Langley Soryu by Yamato

Neon Genesis Evangelion, or Eva, has been around for nearly 15 years now and is undeniably one of the most popular anime ever. With that being said, it’s only natural that Eva would spawn a huge lineup of merchandise ranging from trading cards and cell phone straps to pillow cases and life-size dolls. While there appeared to be a drop in the amount of Eva merchandise moving into the early 2000s, that all changed with the release of the first Rebuild of Evangelion movie in 2007. Since then, there has been a dramatic increase in Eva merchandise, and the release of the 2nd movie in 2009 helped increase demand for Read more »

Zombies + Farmville = Zombie Farm!

Zombies + Farmville = Zombie Farm!

What do you get when you combine Zombies and Farmville? You get Zombie Farm! You can’t believe how excited I got when I learned about this iPhone, iPod Touch and/or iPad app from my sister! Just the other day, a few friends and myself were having a discussion about the various addicting Facebook games. One guy said he’d rather die than play that sissy Farmville game. To which the girls replied that Mob Wars suck and Farmville is the best, haha! Then another guy said, he’d probably start playing Farmville if they added zombies and the zombies can attack other farms. I guess Playforge (the makers of Zombie Farm) heard Read more »

Learn The Art Of Comma Sutra

Learn The Art Of Comma Sutra

Some say that you don’t have to be a good writer to make it in the world of blogging. I have expressed my heartfelt disagreement regarding this point – while I believe that you do not have to be the best writer, you at least have to be a decent one. Basic writing skills are of paramount importance: proper capitalization, spelling, and punctuation are good places to start. For those of you who are turned off by the idea (who needs proper punctuation anyway?), here’s something that might just change your mind. Over the weekend, I went to a local shopping mecca in the city. As usual, whenever I go Read more »

How important is internet speed to you?

How important is internet speed to you?

Most of us are online every waking moment one way or the other. Computers are on the whole day, our smart-phones are constantly connected and pushing data. As soon as internet is down we’ll “freak” out and our daily routine is disturbed. This past week I spend days fretting over my internet speed. Internet is not cheap here in the Netherlands, I pay an average of 60 euros a month for a broadband cable connection. The package used to be 50 Mbit down and 5 Mbit up. Since then my provider has upgraded the speed to 120 Mbit down and 10 Mbit up. There is no data limit, fair use Read more »

The Bladed Hand Trailer

With almost no knowledge in film production, Jay Ignacio and team went on a sojourn to unravel the roots of the world’s most deadly and effective martial art — Kali. Known in mainstream Philippines as “arnis” the original form of Kali (or Eskrima) replaced today’s wooden sticks with yesterday’s bladed weapons. During the Spanish occupation, Filipinos who were assimilated into Spanish culture were allowed to practice their art, however replacing these kick ass weapons with sticks. This is a documentary about the global impact and current state of Eskrima/Kali/Arnis, otherwise known as Filipino Martial Arts. Filmed around Cebu, Baguio, Bacolod, Batangas, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Manila, Moscow, Oakland and San Diego. Read more »

Waste more time with Bear Gunner

Are you bored at work? Do yourself a favor and click on this link. Forget this article for a minute. … …… ……… Done playing? Great! Bear Gunner as you may have experienced isn’t as great as Robot Unicorn Attack (Robot Unicorn is “ROFLMAO” while Bear Gunner is “LOL”), but it still grabs your attention for the next five minutes as you gun down a horde of Pedobears coming out of the woods. Here’s how it works: You need to save the little girls from being [EEEP!] by the horde of bears coming out of the woods amidst the vinyl music playing in the background. You have limited ammo. You Read more »

X-COM making a comeback as a FPS: Ready the Blaster Launcher!

X-COM making a comeback as a FPS: Ready the Blaster Launcher!

[Kotaku] Back in the 90′s Microprose created one of the pillars of gaming as we know it today. Although turn based strategy is slowly fading, at one point it was the most efficient way to allow players to absorb loads of battlefield information and make decisions. It was, at its best the way Dungeons and Dragons was supposed to be played on a computer. [wikipedia] For years I’ve wondered what was to become of the series, conjuring scenarios where today’s gaming trends meet the nostalgia of 10 years back. X-Com had a lot to offer to everybody: it was a simulator that combined turn based strategy, resource management and a Read more »
