Ever since I started playing WoW (which was around 4 years ago), I have always been playing for the Horde Faction. My first created toon, however, was a Night Elf Druid which I played until level 18. Then I found out a couple of friends of mine were playing Horde on the same server as I was and decide to switch to Horde. Four years later, I have two level 80 Priests (Undead and a Blood Elf, I re-rolled to a BE because I wanted a prettier toon and race change wasn’t available yet, hehe), a level 80 Blood Elf Paladin, a level 80 Tauren Druid, and a Blood Elf Read more »

Joss Whedon and The Avengers
That sound you’re hearing? Choirs of fanboys singing. This might be the greatest news to ever come out of geekdom. Joss Whedon, one of the most celebrated and respected (and geeky) wordsmiths of our time, is going to be directing Marvel Studios’ big-budget superhero mashup, The Avengers. As you probably know, The Avengers is combining the stars of Marvel’s various superhero pics — Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, and Nick Fury — into star-studded blockbuster film. Whedon landing this gig is on the same level as JJ Abrams being handed the keys to the Enterprise, and everybody knows how amazing that turned out. Whedon is best known as the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and Read more »
Lego Jesus
They say anyone can make practically anything given enough Lego bricks. Anyone who is even thinking of disputing this should think again. Take a look at this awesome Lego creation – a statue of Jesus. This awesome masterpiece is good enough to match any other work created by the greats, don’t you think? The Lego statue of Jesus is the handiwork of 40 volunteers who worked for a total of 18 months. And, can anyone guess how many Lego pieces were used for this statue? Oh, just 30,000. All of the pieces were donated to the church. You can just imagine the heaps of odd pieces of Lego lying around Read more »
Five cartoons that bring back nostalgia
I grew up in the 80′s and the 90′s and like most I watched cartoons daily on TV. I could never get used to or like modern day cartoons. Back then we only got transmission from two TV stations from Venezuela and after we got cable it was all Cartoon Network with mostly newer cartoons. When I think about the cartoons back then these are five cartoons characters I haven’t seen in years on TV. The drawings from before 1990 that is, not the newer ones. We’ll start the list of with the most famous cartoon of all time. Bugs Bunny Bugs Bunny was created by Tex Avery in 1940 Read more »
DS161 Movie Substrobe: All in One Solution for Underwater Photos and Videos
Wowzers. Even if you didn’t know what it did, it sure looks important. This is a dual purpose dive light / strobe from Ikelite and it is available NOW. The DS161 Movie Substrobe, pegged at USD $950 may seem like an expensive piece of underwater equipment but truth be told, the amount of money you spend investing on one piece of technology to do two different things is so worth it. Photo and video underwater is obviously different from what we usually do. WIth almost zero light and the blue haze (sometimes green) of the ocean, you’ll need to be a pro in adjusting your white balance and placing your Read more »
Start Mac Apps with the MegaMan Theme
If you’re running a Mac, you’re in luck. Any geek born in the 80′s will immediately recognize the MegaMan soundtrack. It’s ubiquitous, being seen in post-its, orchestras, and now in the Macintosh. [awesome image source c/o Reddit] The MegaMan Effect is a simple app that emulates the intro music prior to entering a level whenever you launch an application. Originally composed by Manami Matsumae and Yoshihiro Sakaguchi, the application works by simply launching it, and anytime another app opens, the MegaMan theme plays for a good seven seconds. Although it is not NSFW, be sure to keep the speakers on a low. I’ve almost become a victim of this forgetting Read more »
My Wii Fit Experience: A Geeky And Fun Way To Exercise
The Wii Fit Balance Board has been in the market for quite some time now, but it’s only recently that I was able to try it out myself. I must say, contrary to an old post about the Wii Fit in FG before, I personally find the Wii Fit a fun (and geeky) way to exercise! Like most Wii Games, you start out by making your own Mii (if you don’t have one yet). And then you step on the Wii Balance Board for the Wii to be able to extract some personal data like your weight and BMI. If you are sensitive about your vital statistics, you can put Read more »
When East and West Collide
What do you get when you combine the core elements of Japanese anime and American comic books? The answer is a new series called Heroman. Written by none other than famous comic book writer Stan Lee and produced by Bones animation studio, Heroman is just a small glimpse into what’s to come. Marvel, in collaboration with Madhouse, are also expected to release the Iron Man and Wolverine anime in Japan sometime in the next year or two. I can’t say anything for the Iron Man and Wolverine anime since they haven’t been released yet, but I have gotten a chance to see Heroman and it doesn’t look too bad. The Read more »
Sexy Geek Pasties
Now some of you guys out there might be wondering exactly what pasties are. Why don’t I let you wonder a little bit more? For those of you who already know (and, no, they are not the kind that you can buy at the bakery for breakfast or a quick snack), then you must be quite excited by now. Lady Tornade sells these little custom-made pasties that any geek girl would find more than useful. Here’s a little teaser: Pacman pasties. And another one: mushroom pasties. Any idea what they are for? I really hope I won’t get into trouble for posting this image, but they illustrate best what pasties Read more »
