If you’re running a Mac, you’re in luck. Any geek born in the 80′s will immediately recognize the MegaMan soundtrack. It’s ubiquitous, being seen in post-its, orchestras, and now in the Macintosh.

The MegaMan Effect is a simple app that emulates the intro music prior to entering a level whenever you launch an application. Originally composed by Manami Matsumae and Yoshihiro Sakaguchi, the application works by simply launching it, and anytime another app opens, the MegaMan theme plays for a good seven seconds.
Although it is not NSFW, be sure to keep the speakers on a low. I’ve almost become a victim of this forgetting that it was turned on before a PowerPoint presentation. In retrospect, MegaMan Effect does have the potential to establish rapport within the office. If you’re unsure, run the app without the sounds turned on and those who don’t have the insight to MegaMan will think nothing of the loading screen.
