The walking bookcase

You know how it is. You’ve got hundreds of books that you need to take along while you walk places.

One solution is to build yourself a bookcase in the shape of a giant hamster wheel, like this guy did. This thing must weigh a ton with all those books inside, but the upside is that you’ll get a great workout as you walk.

It looks like something out of a future Ikea catalog, but it’s actually a one-of-a-kind art installation at a college in Denmark, built by artist David Garcia. He calls it “Archive II,” and describes it this way:

Inspired by ancient travelling libraries from the Far East, which visited courts and cities, Archive II transforms this into a personal space, where walking and reading coexist as refuge and transport.

I guess Garcia never heard of e-books.
