Long time no see, right? Don’t worry, I’ve been bathing myself in even more Star Wars pr0n than I could remember to share with you. Sue me. But I’ll make up for it. Right now. Or maybe not yet, I think first I am going to watch the ‘War of The Stars’ grindhouse movie and then I might come back and post about ‘Sherlock Holmes, The Mockbuster’. Or not. First… first… first I feel the urge to spend money. And I want to keep things simple. Let’s start with a T-shirt. A Star Wars T-Shirt. We love our Star Wars shirts here at FGHQ. Let’s buy more! I have a Read more »

LEGO Pac-Man
Uber-popular 80s video game + thousands of LEGO blocks. What’s not to love? This tabletop Pac-Man arcade game is built entirely out of LEGO. Well, except for the electronics hidden inside. That’s right, it actually plays. It runs not just Pac-Man, but other 80s games like Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, and “many more,” according to the builder, Ben Fleskes. His website provides frustratingly few details — such as how long it took to make, or exactly how many bricks were used — but it does mention that the finished build is almost three feet tall, and that no LEGO bricks were cut or altered in order to complete the structure. Zombies, Robots, Man – just who are the monsters?
So two eight-page strips made my head and heart spin, leaving me with the confusion that if I was happy I should be disgusted, but if I was disgusted then I was missing out on the happiness. Appalled, yet willing to keep secrets. Read more »
The Ever Increasing Watch
There are some people who are simply into watches. While one can only really wear one watch at a time, these people will not hesitate to pick up a new watch that catches their fancy. Most of the time, though, watches such as those made by Breitling, Rolex, and the other big boys are the ones that are much sought after. For those who have a geekier side, however, I am pretty sure that the “Ever Increasing Watch” will prove to be more appealing than any of the watches produced by the manufacturers mentioned above. One look at the Ever Increasing Watch will make your curiosity rise like the water Read more »
Tattoo Decision Flowchart
The taboo around tattoos has diminished a lot the last past decade. It’s not looked down any more if you have one or two nice tattoos on a discreet place on your body. Now it’s a question of getting a tasteful tattoo somewhere not on your face or head rather then not getting one at all. A year ago I got my first tattoo after thinking about it a year long, I wanted something really meaningful and be sure it wasn’t something I would regret later. I decided on a poem which I wanted on my shoulder, but at the ink shop I decided why put it somewhere where I Read more »
10 Gorgeous iPad Freebies
The iPad has been with us for over a month. How many great apps can developers create in a month’s time? How many of those apps are beautiful, taking full advantage of the iPad’s high-def touchscreen and lightning-fast responsiveness? And how many of those are available to download for free? Turns out, quite a lot. Everyone already knows how great iBooks is, how nice the eBay app is, and how amazing the Marvel Comics app looks. But there are hidden gems among the free iPad apps, and here are ten of them. Air Guitar This deceptively simple app lets you pluck or strum virtual guitar strings. You can even alter the Read more »
Give your MacBook a LEGO makeover
Etsy is home to all things handmade — both kooky and wondrous. Here’s one that could be either, depending on your love of plastic building blocks. An Etsy seller called “openandclose” has made available a set of stickers for your MacBook keyboard that resemble LEGO bricks. Specifically, the tops of LEGO bricks, where the studs are. After applying the stickers — which will run you $15 for the set — these faux-studs are where you’ll find the letters, numbers, and punctuation marks on your keyboard. The maker says that these “LEGO-style” stickers are printed on Avery MPI, a high quality vinyl that can stand up to a lot of abuse Read more »
The Social Network Pokes Fun At Mark Zuckerberg
The Internet boom has made millionaires and billionaires out of the most unlikely people; and if the leaked screenplay of the movie The Social Network is to be believed, then Facebook Mark Zuckerberg was as unlikely as unlikely could be. Mark Zuckerberg rose to fame when, at the age of 23, he founded the most popular social networking site today – Facebook. Who doesn’t know about Facebook? Who is not on Facebook? Heck, even my in-laws have a Facebook account! Anyhow, with popularity comes controversy, and Zuckerberg has gotten more than his share – probably rightly so. Certain changes in the settings of Facebook has riled up many people, worst Read more »
The Pokémon Center
Anyone who has played Pokémon will be familiar with the Pokémon Center (aka Pokécenter). It acts as a sort of hospital specifically for Pokémon. You bring in your injured Pokémon and hand them over to Nurse Joy, who then places them in this machine that goes “ding ding ding,” and your Pokémon are all better. Also included in Pokécenters are areas where you can battle other Pokémon trainers and a computer that you can access to organize your Pokémon collection and other items. This is all fun and good in the game, but wouldn’t it be cool if there were real Pokécenters that you could visit? Well, luckily for Pokémon Read more »
JJ Abrams goes retro
That JJ Abrams is one savvy dude. How do you possibly top a big-budget box office hit that’s a success among critics and fans both? Answer: you don’t. And Abrams knows it. Hot off his Star Trek reboot, Abrams has picked his next film, and he’s done it with a wise method: lower expectations. Instead of another big-budget epic, he’s filming a lower-budget scifi pic that’s crazy smart. The movie, which has existed under a shroud of secrecy until last weekend’s trailer preview before Iron Man 2, is an homage to Steven Spielberg’s old-school scifi pictures, from the early part of his career. The twist? Abrams, who also wrote the Read more »
