A few months ago I already went into the subject of headphones as fashion item. When I saw the newest headphones born from a collaboration between Skullcandy and Roc Nation I was immediately sold, just by looking at the couple of photos available. The Roc Nation Aviator headphone is clearly retro inspired and totally drool worthy. I was never really into Skullcandy headphones as they targeted the teenagers and fans of the rock genre in my opinion. So I never really stood still in the store and give them a second look. With the collaboration with Roc Nation they are expanding to a whole other audience and hopefully more headphones Read more »

The Sentry – Good bye or good riddance?
<SPOILER ALERT! Read Siege #4 before you read this.> Well, it’s finally all over, and the status quo has returned to what it should be. Norman Osborn has been picked up from crawling about in the wreckage of the Golden City, revealed to be as mad as a dancing troupe of Mad Hatters, even the President has ordered his capture, and reinstated the Avengers. At the same time, Bob Reynolds lies dead in the ruins of Asgard. I for one am not sorry to see him go. Although a number of stories featuring him have been of a high quality, as a (dis)functioning part of the Avengers, I rather think Read more »
Tetris Furniture: Time To Redecorate!
It shames me to say that I do not have an artistic bone in my body, but it is true. When it comes to interior decorating, I am even worse. My place is decent enough, but I don’t seem to have that touch to make it visually appealing. Still, it hasn’t stopped me from scouting out interesting pieces of furniture. Who knows, I just might find the missing link! And speaking of pieces of furniture, I ran across a set of Tetris furniture that could do the trick. I mean, how can you go wrong with Tetris? The guys at Walyou featured various kinds of geeky furniture, but the Tetris Read more »
Is the PSP2 imminent?
England’s MCV magazine is reporting that Sony might be planning to make a surprise announcement (which would be less so now, I suppose) at next month’s E3: the PSP2. Now that the iPad is bringing high-def handheld gaming to the masses, Sony has to be feeling the pain with its low-def PlayStation Portable. Then there’s the already-announced, but yet to be seen, Nintendo 3DS, the successor to Nintendo’s uber-popular DS handheld, which is reportedly upping the ante by adding 3D screens to its new device that requires no special glasses to view. Add these two together and you’ve got yourself a world of hurt for Sony’s handheld device, unless they’re Read more »

The balls roll uphill – or do they?
Optical illusions are cool. Computers are used every day to create amazing things that our eyes and minds perceive as real, even though they don’t exist. Much harder to create is an illusion in the real world that our eyes will believe in, without question. This one, created by Koukichi Sugihara of the Meiji Institute for Advanced Study of Mathematical Sciences, won first prize in the 2010 Best Illusion of the Year contest. And it’s made entirely with real objects in the real world. No camera fakery, no CGI enhancements. As you’ll see, it all depends on your point of view. The deception is surprisingly simple, but incredibly effective. Read more »
Not only is it for your Mac, but Steam never looked this good
Before anything else, Portal is now out for the Macintosh via Steam. Yes folks, after more than six years, the gaming industry has finally recognized OS X as a viable gaming platform. Even if it’s just for Plants vs Zombies. I’ve been on Steam since 2004 and only because that was the easiest way I could download Half Life 2 without ever leaving the house. As Internet got better through the years, the discless distribution method became a pillar of PC gaming. For a select few who owned Macs though, it presented a slight inconvenience. I feel a bit duped knowing that I own Plants vs. Zombies for the Mac, Read more »
Why we needed a backyard when we were kids
I remember my childhood when toys were more than 10 feet high, and there was a valid reason why you needed a huge backyard. And it’s not just for the dog. “4-sound electronic console??” What more could a kid want. Read more »
Samsung’s Barbie Laptop
Remember the recently held contest sponsored by Mattel wherein the general public got a say as to Barbie’s modern day careers? The voting was publicized like nothing else, and the results yielded two careers: computer engineer and news anchor. Here’s something you may not know: according to statistics, young girls actually voted for the latter, while adults chose the former. I guess the idea of Barbie being a computer engineer has not caught on with the little ones. Read more »
