Our friends, Zeh Germans, always have some funny stuff, a different way to look at life. Most might not be aware of it but German people really are funny and a good species. Although sometimes their liberal views might be offensive to feminists (Arguably NSFW link), they know humour and to be honest it were Zeh Germans who introduced me to some of the best TV comedy series ever: Black Books and Father Ted. Until I moved to the UK I thought these two series were typically representative for the English race but that appeared to be nothing else than German humour. Luckily Germans aren’t always as sarcastic as can Read more »

Mimeo and the Kleptopus King
For the old skool style gamers out there who own an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad there is a game to look forward to. Mimeo is a pixel based game being developed by Shaun Inman, expected release is late 2010. Mimeo (even the name) started as a Mario clone with a twist: instead of power-ups affecting the player, they affect the entire game world. A story and mythos quickly developed. The so-called Mimeoverse consists of two 16-bit demiverses sharing 32-bits between them. When the evil Kleptopus King, an 8-bit octopus with an inferiority complex, discovers a portal into Mimeo’s realm and begins to syphon off its bits, Mimeo is sucked Read more »
Unreal structures at World Expo
Did you know they’re still holding the World’s Fair? I’m not surprised if you don’t — It’s taking place this year in Shanghai, and of the nearly 200 countries participating, each one has built a unique pavilion that showcases its art, history, and culture. These pavilions represent some of the most high-concept, wicked crazy architecture the world has ever seen. Where else in the world might you find a building made out of 60,000 fiber optic cables (pictured below) — each one with a different plant seed embedded inside? Or record-breaking structures made entirely out of unlikely materials like wicker, cork, and bamboo? Or an absolutely mammoth pavilion for the Read more »
A Brighter Day Just Makes The Shadows Deeper
Trinity rose the bar for these series so high, I think it was most wise of DC to make this bi-weekly, rather than weekly. Johns and Tomasi have a good working relationship already, and in this not-quite-first issue, that ease of communication is clearly apparent. Read more »
Marveling Over The Lego Iron Man
Overheard in the elevator (as narrated by a friend): Guy: I don’t care what you say, my favorite robot is Iron Man! I don’t know about Tony Stark being a robot, but I am sure all the girls here would agree with me when I say that he can be MY robot any time! But how about a Lego creation? Wouldn’t you want a Lego Iron Man to play with? I have been trying to look for Lego Iron Man creations online, but it seems that the only thing out there is the one created by Arvo about two or three years ago – when the first Iron Man came Read more »
Disney's "Last Tour to Endor"
Star Tours has been one of Walt Disney World’s most popular rides since it premiered in 1987. Disney is planning to bring Star Tours to an end later this year, so it can be reimagined and relaunched next year as a whole new experience with modern technology. But before that happens, Disney is offering one final chance to enjoy a nostalgic trip on the old ride as part of a “decommissioning party” that they’re calling “Last Tour to Endor.” Last Tour to Endor takes place Saturday, August 14th, during Lucasfilm’s Star Wars Celebration V (which obviously, is also being held in Orlando). If you’re willing to pluck down $75 for Read more »
NSFW: Skateboard With Stormtrooper Helmet-clad Naked Woman
Yes, you read that right: NSFW! Not that I would want your job if you would risk to get fired for this (or for wasting valuable company time trying to find Star Wars porn online… while at work). Just keep your job, tyvm. But rules are rules, so instead as a leadpic for this post you get… … original ‘A New Hope’ Stormtrooper helmets. If last week you received Slave Leia car-wash and Carrie Fisher sunbathing on set, today we have to speak business. Real business. I mean, why otherwise the [NSFW] tag? That’s right, Zeh Germans were at again and what does that mean? Boobs! Hey, you! Yes, you Read more »
Geek Girl Crush: Robert Downey, Jr On Jay Leno
Ok, I can’t stand this. I need an Iron Man / Robert Downey, Jr. detox. PRONTO! Ever since I got back from watching Iron Man 2 from the movie theater, all I’ve been thinking about (mostly) is either Iron Man related or Robert Downey, Jr. related. I watched Iron Man 1 again on DVD, I’ve watched a couple of Robert Downey, Jr’s old movies, the Invincible Iron Man 2007 and I’m trying to get a copy of the complete Iron Man The Animated Series, too! And now, I even watched Jay Leno just because I heard that Robert Downey, Jr was going to be the guest for tonight. I don’t Read more »
