Awesome Superhero and Star Wars Art by 'Vivid Fury' Lawrence Reynolds

Awesome Superhero and Star Wars Art by 'Vivid Fury' Lawrence Reynolds

Many among you are going to hate me for this because for the second time in less than 36 hours I am going to send you to a Flash website. Take that if you’re on an iPad. If you’re poor like me, you still are trying to win an iPad, but even if you have the wonderful device already, trust me… this stuff is good! In all honesty, I would even consider to send the $600, I would spend for an iPad, to Lawrence Reynolds because my new pad has a really nice and large dark red wall and his artwork would perfectly fit there. It’s about stuff we all Read more »

Tron Goes Saul Bass. Lost Just Is Lost

Tron Goes Saul Bass. Lost Just Is Lost

Checking my multimedia library, especially the movie section feels like reading the IMDB All-time Top 250 and maybe that is why I am not excited about The Expendables, even the addition of Muscles from Brussels, Jean-Claude Van Damme would not get this Belgian guy to the movies to check out the adrenaline volume. Even my list of best movie titles scenes isn’t 100% representative for my taste, but it’s a step in the right direction already. And has Kyle Cooper and Saul Bass in it. Deviant art member TOYIB has published his image edit, catapulting some of our most loved loved super heroes in to WWII situations. Although he only upped some pictures so far, the results are impressive and it would be awesome to see even more heroes than just Batman, Spiderman, Superman and Darth Vader in WWII situations. Superman at Neuschwanstein, Cologne (D) in 1945. Read more »

Quick, to the comic book store!

Quick, to the comic book store!

If you’re a comic book fan, you already know what today is. If not, then let me be the first to tell you: it’s Free Comic Book Day! FCBD is an annual event where comic book stores across America give away a bag full of free comics to all who visit their store. Every major comics publisher participates, publishing a special free comic just for today’s event. No purchase is necessary — just run down to your local comic shop and you’ll get 10 special comics entirely for free. It’s part of an effort to raise awareness of the unique art form that is comic books, and create new fans. Read more »

Human Bones Art Against Violence

Human Bones Art Against Violence

The story is simple but almost unbelievable: In the mid-90’s, during an auction from an old school, I purchased 3 metal lockers and to my surprise one of them held a real, full size articulated skeleton,” he says. “For years I had it displayed in one of the rooms in my studio and I often wondered what else I could do with it. Finally the idea came to me to explore the idea of disassembling the skeleton and rearranging the bones, and from that process came the series ‘Stop the Violence.’ The result is amazing art by Francois Robert a Swiss photographer. More pictures after the jump and in the Read more »
