The hype always is about Quentin Tarantino but if you’re anything like me, you’ll definitely prefer the road-movie factor which Rodriguez brought to earlier Tarantino movies. Road-movie as in ‘less ridiculous violence just because my name is Tarantino and just because I can’. From Dusk Till Dawn minus the vampires. Both worked together regularly and I certainly am a bigger fan of the Mexican who filmed El Mariachi with only $7,000 before receiving funding for Desperados.
Don’t get me wrong, I do like Tarantino but Rodriguez is the more mature director of both. Luckily they worked together regularly, even if on under-rated movies such as Four Rooms or over-hyped movies such as the Grindhouse duo.
This time the honour is Tarantino’s to create a fake trailer for Rodriguez’ upcoming feature film ‘Machete’ but the trailer we are really interested in here at FG is the LEGO version by Youtuber gigerbrick.
LEGO makes everything better. Even Roberto Rodriguez.

I agree, I much prefer Rodriguez, although after Inglourious Basterds Tarantino is redeemed for a while. However, stop-motion lego trailers for awesome things like Machete, never get old! Love it!
Rosalind, I think Inglourious was very much Tarantino back to the the old days. What often is forgotten about Tarantino is that he an awesome dialogue writer is but often the visual violence is much more in focus. Sad actually.
Reservoir Dogs will stay his best movie if he continues ‘Tarantino style’.
