Remember my post about fantasy TV series? Well, here is something that might whet your appetite. HBO just released the teaser for the series A Game of Thrones. Based on the novel, A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin, talk about the TV series has been going on for quite some time.
The novel is the first of the Song of Ice and Fire series, one of the best high fantasy stories you’ll ever encounter. The plot is complex, and the good and the bad are not clearly distinguished. It’s much like real life – you have protagonists with bad sides and you have antagonists with good sides.
I suppose that is one of the main reasons I fell in love with George R.R. Martin’s writing. And, he does not hold back on his descriptions as well.
One good thing about the TV series is that George R.R. Martin himself is deeply involved in the production. Here’s more information from the man himself:
The series will be based in Northern Ireland, with many of the scenes shot on the gigantic Paint Hall sound stage in Belfast, on the former Harland and Wolff shipyards. Castles, forests, and other sites in and around Northern Ireland will also be used. A return to Morocco is also possible, and other locations may be used as well.
And, to give you a taste of what it’s going to be like, here’s the video from HBO.
There isn’t much that we can tell from the video, except that “winter is coming,” and any fan would know that! Still, the fact that the teaser is out is something that I cannot help but be excited about!!!
Winter is indeed coming, and I will be right there to watch the scenes unfold.
