Here’s your chance to voice out your thoughts on the uber popular TV series, Glee. We can’t deny that it has become so popular, but just how good is it? I will admit that I got hooked on Glee in the beginning. I couldn’t stop watching episode after episode. Then season 1 ended, and I tried watching the show from the beginning again. I couldn’t believe just how silly the storyline is! I couldn’t stomach watching it all over again!
The characters are way too cliché. Has anyone noticed that they need representatives from every “minority group” out there? African Americans, geeks, physically challenged, Asians, and the list goes on and on.
Anyway, that’s not the point of this post – I just read about how members of the Glee cast are going to be present at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego. Well, it’s not exactly a new thing as some were present last year. This year’s appearance seems to be more controversial, though.
For Gleeks, the controversy stems from the fact that the main characters are not going to be there. Producers say that it’s because they were already there last year. It’s a “giving others a chance” kind of thing.
For “real geeks,” the issue is something else altogether. Take this comment by a reader at EW.com:
I think “what the heck does Glee have to do with COMICS?”
Do any of the characters on the show even read comics? NO.
The Big Bang Theory has more in common with COMIC-CON than Glee does. Should there be a convention for musicals, would it be okay for comic book fans to show up dressed like Darth Vader?
Enough said. What do you think about Glee being part of Comic-Con? I would have to agree with the guy who wrote that comment above!
