Smurf Trailer Smurf Happens. Here's The First Teaser Trailer

What could be cooler than the Smurf’s coming to the big screen in a live action movie? For one thing not throwing them in New York City for the first teaser trailer. Wasn’t the whole point of the Smurf’s that they lived in the forest hidden away from all the world, while constantly foiling plans by their nemesis Gargamel to capture Smurfette while destroying the rest of the Smurfs?

At least the first trailer for the move is introduced by Neil Patrick Harris so we have that going for us.

Here’s the Smurf Teaser Trailer:

Okay, not much to see, hopefully as the movies July 29 2011 release date approaches we’ll get to see a whole lot more from our blue friends, preferably not in New York City.

In the meantime the website Smurfhappens has been launched as the official portal for the upcoming film.

What do you think about the trailer? I’m really not impressed, but at least for people who love 3D that will be an option, then again 3D is an option for almost every movie these days.

In the immortal song of the Smurf’s: La la la la la, la a l a la la. Yeah that song is definitely stuck in my head now.

Is there a reason that Neil Patrick Harris is doing the introducing? Could he be a voice in the move? Just seems sort of out of place.

Other than that question, I agree, I’d rather see a fantasy, foresty land where the smurfs can roam free. I hope this doesn’t turn into another Alvin and the Chipmunks.

The video is not longer available :(
