Okay, so we don’t have hover boards or flying DeLoreans that can travel through time yet, but one enterprising person has developed a pair of self lacing power shoes.

If you’ll recall in Back to the Future when Marty McFly arrives in the future he puts on a pair of Nike’s which auto tighten their laces when the tongue of the shoe is pulled, now using a special power attachment that sits behind the heal of the shoe those laces actually exist, albeit in a much more bulky fashion.Here’s a video of the power tie shoelaces, once again on a pair of Nike’s.

I guess it’s better than velcro, but honestly could they have possibly chosen an uglier looking pair of shoes to showcase their invention? Ronald McDonald would like his Nike’s back now please.
