340x dollhouse epitaphs cover 01 223x191 Dollhouse “Epitaphs” Comic Debuting At SDCC, Arriving With Season 2 DVDsWhile Joss Whedon has promised he would never create a Dollhouse comic book, he never said anything about creating a spinoff from the series, now we’ve come to learn that he’ll release a comic called “Epitaphs” which conveys the story of several key characters who survive the takeover.  The comic will come bundled with season two DVDs.

Here’s the synopsis for the comic book:

Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, joined by longtime Buffy the Vampire Slayer artist Cliff Richards, take us on an intricate trip through the precise moment when the Active technology went global, and how the protagonists from Epitaph One and Two narrowly avoided death, and worse.Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen wrote the Epitaph episodes of Dollhouse Seasons One and Two, and currently write for the Starz series Spartacus. This is their first work in comics. Artist Cliff Richards has drawn more Joss Whedon-related comics than any other artist, including issues of Buffy Season Eight.

Unfortunately you won’t be able to  buy the comic without buying the DVDs and season 2 won’t come out until October 12, although some early copies will be available at SDCC and they’ll be signed by Whedon and Tancharoen on Friday from 11 AM to noon.

If you get your hands on a copy of the comic, let us know what you think.  [UGO]

That sounds pretty cool. I loved the ideas of Dollhouse, especially at the end, but the implementation was just so problematic. I, sadly, and nowhere near SDCC so will have to wait until October.
