If you’re a kid who loves robots or a Star Wars fan who’s fallen sick, you’d love to be staying at this hospital in Bangor, Maine, where R2D2 has been visiting sick patients to raise their spirits. It should be known that this isn’t some cheap rip-off of R2D2, but a very real looking replica that offers sounds and movement, just like the R2D2 we’ve all come to love. I can’t do the replica justice by explaining it, so here’s a news report about his new duties as a candy stripper…so to speak: Read more »

If Women Were Browsers Infographic
You’ve certainly noticed the infographics that Darice has been posting on the site regularly, and I have to say that she has opened up a whole new world for me. Sometimes, I find myself reading infographics for an hour – that’s saying a lot as my attention span is rather short. Anyhow, in one of those infographics sprees, I ran across one that I simply couldn’t pass up on. It’s meant to be taken in the spirit of fun, which I know you guys will get. ;) Read more »
Incredibly intricate tattoos on LEGO Minifigs
Pilot Pens has a new “extra fine” point pen available, and to demonstrate its needle-like size, a Barcelona ad agency came up with this series of adverts that feature LEGO Minifigures. The Minifigs have been inked using the extra fine Pilot pens, and are shown in extreme close-ups so you can see for yourself just how intricate these drawn-on tats are. It’s a brilliant strategy, as everyone in the world knows the size of a LEGO Minifig, so seeing these complex art pieces drawn on such a small medium demonstrates the size of the pen tip far better than any words could. (Plus, the use of tattooed Minifigs demonstrates a Read more »

Starcraft II: A Ghost of the Past I Wouldn't Mind Seeing
Do you know what day it is today? July 27, 2010, for sure. Gamers would know that today is the launch day for Starcraft II, the much awaited sequel to that “little” game released about 12 years ago. (Note to self: Wow, it has been that long?) I still remember when I first played Starcraft. I wasn’t that good at it, but I just couldn’t stop playing. My mother would remember the game because she threatened – several times – to smash the computer if I didn’t go to bed before the sun came up. Read more »
New Star Discovered: It's Fricken' Huge And Proves Somes Scientists Wrong
A few weeks ago I reported that Protons may be smaller than originally thought , today I’m wondering if scientists are just sitting around kicking themselves at the moment as it has been discovered that stars can in fact grow more than 150 times the size of our own sun, the “upper limit” estimate originally believed possible by much of the scientific community. The new star is around 2 times as big as that “upper limit.” The newly discovered massive star called Star R136a1 is gigantic (to put it lightly), just look at the comparison chart shown above, the really big sun we can only see a small part of, Read more »
Flipboard makes magazines personal
I have a very strict morning routine. 6:00 am hits the clock and I pivot out of the bed to my right, put my feet on the floor, and grab my iPhone with my right hand. Once I disconnect it from the wall, I go through my ritual: e-mail, Facebook, Twitter. Then I get up, feed the dogs, and I go on about my day. Since I got my iPhone 4, I’ve noticed that Twitter loads slower from my iPhone. I’m not sure if it’s the official Twitter app or the iPhone itself, but it’s irritating. When it comes time to load up a pic or two, it seems to Read more »
