A spoiler-free guide to Inception
The last time people talked about a new movie this way was The Matrix. Christopher Nolan is one of the most brilliant filmmakers of our generation. Anyone who’s seen The Dark Knight, Memento, The Prestige, or Insomnia knows this. And now Warner Bros. has given him a blank check to create a thoroughly original, true scifi epic. Which makes Inception the most highly-anticipated-by-geeks movie of the summer. The marketing campaign for Inception has intentionally kept the film’s plot a secret, but here’s what we do know, and why you should be there opening night. Plus: a complete gallery of still images from the film. Read more »

During the 1960′s the United States Government was busy designing new power stations. The electrical stations employed a modernist flair and were put into a book that touts the job of “electrical engineer” as the “must have” job of the future. Grain Edit provides a nice description of the stations: Read more »

I don’t think I am a feminist, but I do relate to some of the points mentioned in the blog post “Geek feminism as opposed to mainstream feminism?”. The blogger, Mary, wrote down some experiences that geek feminists encounter. Here is one thing that stopped me in my tracks and got me thinking: Geek feminists live in a male-dominated world. Easy Unfollow with ManageFlitter
I think it is safe to say that 98% of us have a Twitter account, active or inactive. Like with all social media applications people are driven by the amount of “friends” or “followers” they have. I also started with that drive, following people who’s time line seemed interesting and hoping the would follow back. But after almost four years with a Twitter account I can’t really care anymore, and that notion was confirmed with the clear overview of my account given to me by ManageFlitter. ManageFlitter is a web application that helps you to easily unfollow people based on criteria such as are they following you back? How active Read more »
