David Prowse Banned From Lucas Film Events. Perhaps James Earl Jones' Voice Will Show Up Instead

David Prowse Banned From Lucas Film Events. Perhaps James Earl Jones' Voice Will Show Up Instead

David Prowse, the actor who played Darth Vader in the original Star Wars films is no longer allowed to attend official Star Wars and other related Lucas Film based events. Prowse has been attending official events since the Star Wars Trilogy debuted, however he has had an ongoing feud with George Lucas after his lines were dubbed over by James Earl Jones before the first movie debuted, that dubbing occurred without his knowledge. Prowse was also replaced by actor Sebastian Shaw in the famous scene in which Darth Vader finally removes his mask to reveal his face. The Lucas/Prowse feud allegedly hit full steam ahead when it was believed Prowse Read more »

If It’s Not an iPhone, Why Would I Want It?

Why do you want an iPhone? Some of the hardcore Apple fanboys would probably fire off a long list of why the iPhone is coolest and the best mobile phone out there, but if you ask me, many people might actually be “Apple zombies.” If you ask them why the want the iPhone, they’ll probably just say because it’s the iPhone. I totally get where they’re coming from – sometimes I find myself thinking the same way. While we might never find out just why the iPhone is that attractive, we can join the creative people who poke fun at the whole idea. Check out this video I found on Read more »

High School of The Dead – A Realistic Portrayal of Human Behaviour

High School of The Dead – A Realistic Portrayal of Human Behaviour

When I first heard of High School of The Dead, I thought that all it would be is gore, violence, zombies, and schoolgirls, everything a guy could want in an anime. Not surprisingly, the anime delivered in all of these areas when the first episode aired last week. What I was not expecting though, were events that were closely reminiscent of discussions about the human condition in my high school literature classes. I’ve seen a lot of anime, and a vast majority of them portray the general population as well-meaning folk who would go out of their way to help a stranger. In HOTD, the characters act the way I Read more »

Shadows or Light?

Shadows or Light?

Out of this weeks crop that I have read so far, I’m afraid the House Of Ideas has it for me this week so far, as the Brightest Day offerings have left me rather disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to see the Atom back in action in a story of his own, as he has had little focus after the events of Countdown in my opinion. Yet Brightest Day – The Atom one shot barely made mention of the emotional rollercoaster that Ray Palmer has been through in the last few years Read more »

Why Dr. Sheldon Cooper Is My Kind Of Geek

Why Dr. Sheldon Cooper Is My Kind Of Geek

The latest season of The Big Bang Theory has been over for a bit now, so I have to be content with “re-runs” and reading up on the TV show instead. While I usually like to be non-conformist in my choices, I cannot deny that Dr. Sheldon Cooper is the best geek out there today – much like millions of other viewers. But why exactly is Sheldon my favorite geek on TV? Read more »

Decades Of Scientists Could Be Wrong! Protons Smaller Than Originally Thought?

Decades Of Scientists Could Be Wrong! Protons Smaller Than Originally Thought?

Protons are really really tiny, so much so that the new 0.00000000000000003 meters difference scientists just discovered is 4% smaller than originally thought over decades of discovery. The new sizing comes from years of tests conducted by European physicists and could have major implications on the field of physics, specifically quantum mechanics which relies on finely tuned measurements in order to properly conduct tests. Ingo Sick, a physicist at Switzerland’s University of Basel told Scientific American: “It’s a very serious discrepancy. There is really something seriously wrong someplace.” Read more »

Watch, you must

You are about to see geeky viral marketing at its very best. These two videos showcase Yoda and Darth Vader recording lines for new Star Wars-themed TomTom Voices. (TomTom is a GPS navigator system.) It’s kooky fun to see these two infamous characters acting silly while remaining in-character. Just watch. You’ll thank me. Read more »

Megaman Vs. His Worse Enemy [Funny Video]

Megaman Vs. His Worse Enemy [Funny Video]

Recorded by David and Chase and eventually brought to life by Alex Sedge, this Megaman spoof shows off the little blue guy versus his worse enemy. Apparently Megaman doesn’t find his biggest enemy to be Sigma, Chill pPenguin, Flame Mammoth or any of the other various bosses he’s faced over the years. Instead Megaman in this video is afraid of some simple spikes that sit between him and the next platform. I personally love the voice over for the video, it’s definitely now what I heard Megaman sounding like. It’s also funny to listen to his inner dialoguing about how he’ll clear the pit of spikes. I also have to Read more »
