Movie Theater Plans Ultimate Lost Marathon

Movie Theater Plans Ultimate Lost Marathon

I love me some Lost. You might even say I’m a Lost fanatic. But this is way too much, even for me. The Prince Charles Cinema in London is planning a Lost marathon starting September 13th, wherein they’ll show all 121 episodes of the show back-to-back on the big screen. Without those pesky commercials, that adds up to 80 straight hours of Lost (though breaks are planned and will be required of all attendees), or four days. The theatre is even going to have paramedics on hand for anyone who gets too tired (or whose brain melts from non-stop pondering of Mystery Island). Prince Charles Cinema is timing this event Read more »

Darren Aronofsky Could Possibly Direct Wolverine 2 [Rumor]

Darren Aronofsky Could Possibly Direct Wolverine 2 [Rumor]

Darren Aronofsky can take boring topics, such as math (Pi) and turn them into genius works of cinematography, he’s also capable of taking characters on a journey into themselves, revealing their flaws, while humanizing their struggles (Requiem for a Dream). Now give him Wolverine and we might have the most twisted, revealing study in comic book characters ever created for the big screen. According to Deadline: On the X-Men: Wolverine 2 front, 20th Century Fox is between David Slade and Darren Aronofsky, I’m told. Slade, who just directed the summer hit The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, met over the weekend with Hugh Jackman on location where he is shooting Real Steel Read more »

Bacon Flavored Lip Balm

Bacon Flavored Lip Balm

Tired from the plethora of fruit flavored lip balms? Now you can buy food flavored ones with Bacon flavor being the most notorious one to me. Other choices are pickle, corndog, nacho and wasabi. I really wonder how it would taste to wear those lip balms, like just having eaten? Or would it make you hungry? Personally I don’t like flavored lip balms, with one exception, coconut flavored. It always reminds me of being on the beach, especially nice when it’s in the middle of winter. Otherwise I’m plain boring with lip balms using a plain non flavored one, so this Bacon Balm and the other food flavored ones look Read more »

Something You Don’t See Everyday

Something You Don’t See Everyday

Have you ever dreamed of dropping plastic guitar-shaped game controllers into a live volcano? Me neither. But someone has, because that’s exactly what happens in the video above. It’s a publicity stunt, sure, but you’ve got to admit it’s a pretty ballsy one. They’re doing it to promote Power Gig: Rise of the Six String, the first music game ever to come with a real guitar that can be played offline. (Rock Band 3 uses a six-string controller, but it can’t be used outside of the game.) Power Gig is coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in late October. Does this video make you more or less interested in Read more »

How to Make Your Own Lightsaber

How to Make Your Own Lightsaber

It is kind of ironic for a non-Stars Wars fan to be posting about it – two days in a row – but I can’t get over this DIY project that this guy shared on Slothfurnace. This is the item that gave the guy the inspiration to create his own lightsaber: the Obi Wan Kenobi Episode IV “A New Hope” lightsaber. For the life of me, I can’t seem to find any other information on this dude, but I suppose that’s not important. He says he found the replicas that Hasbro and Master Replicas are selling have this “extra fat windvane piece that is pretty much meh.” And, just because Read more »

Buy 'Tron: Evolution' Video Game, Get A Free Lightcycle

First the good news, if you buy the Xbox 360 Tron: Evolution game you’ll receive a lightcycle replicate created by Sideshow. Second bit of good news, the lightcycle actually lights up and comes with it’s own case created by Kotaku. The bad news? You’ll pay up to $130 for the limited edition of the game, which wouldn’t be so bad if it was even worth the regular retail price, but as ToplessRobot points out: Read more »

Review: Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

Review: Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

For the first time ever, Lara Croft has shed her Tomb Raider moniker, and taken up residence in a game that’s only available as a download. Maybe even the most radical shift of all: Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is not played from a third-person perspective. Instead, it’s “isometric,” which means you play from above, looking down at an angle. And it turns out, this fresh new take on gaming’s most iconic female is exactly what the doctor ordered, because Guardian of Light absolutely cannot be missed. Read more »

New Season Of 'Doctor Who' Being Split Into Two

New Season Of 'Doctor Who' Being Split Into Two

Steven Moffat recently revealed at the Edinburgh International Television Festival that the next season of Doctor Who is going to be split in two. The 13-episode season will features 7-episodes in the spring and 6-episodes in the fall. According to io9, Moffat said the split would be between two distinct stories with no annoying cliffhanger type scenario: Looking at the next series I thought what this show needs is a big event in the middle [...] I kept referring to a mid-season finale. So we are going to make it two series – seven episodes at Easter building to an earth-shattering climax, a cliffhanger we could never normally do because Read more »
