In a couple of weeks, a number of anime series will begin, and there are quite a few that seem like they would be worth taking a look into. Here are some of the more interesting titles that will be airing this fall:
A Certain Magical Index 2
With only a few appearances in “A Certain Scientific Railgun” since the end of the first season, Touma and Index are finally back on screen full-time in the second season of “A Certain Magical Index”. Currently there don’t seem to be many details regarding the series other than that it’s a continuation from the first; however, the main characters from Railgun seem to be more prominent in the second season based on a trailer that was shown at Comiket 78.
For those of you unfamiliar with Index, it’s about a boy with a mysterious right arm that can cancel out any type of magic or supernatural power, and a nun that knows everything there is to know about forbidden magic. Together, they fend off various people that try to come after them and protect their friends from supernatural and magical events.
Arakawa Under The Bridge 2
I was surprised that animation studio Shaft was able to come out with the second season of Arakawa so quickly. The first season ended in June this year, meaning that the break between the two seasons isn’t even 3 months. I guess when you have a good thing, you’ve got to run with it.
The second season is a continuation of the first, with Kou still living under a bridge with Nino and the other residents of the Arakawa river bank. These other residents include a mythical Japanese creature called a kappa, a musician with a star for a head, and many other crazy characters.
Bakuman
Based on the popular manga of the same title, Bakuman is a story of two teenagers (Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi) who aspire to have their works serialized in Shonen Jump magazine. The series offers insight into the process of creating manga, but it also contains quite a bit of drama as characters don’t always see eye to eye.
Fortune Arterial
While Fortune Arterial is a harem anime, it’s based on the popular eroge of the same name. As usual, there’s one guy surrounded by a bunch of girls in a school environment, but the main female character is a vampire, which throws something different into the mix. I don’t know much else about the story, but considering how widespread it is, it’s got to be worth checking out. After all, some good anime like Kanon and AIR were originally eroge before they were turned into anime.
Hakuouki 2
A good number of girls should be happy to know that the second season of Hakuoki will be airing this season. The anime is about a young girl who is taken into the custody of a group of shinsengumi (samurai), who all happen to be hot guys that protect her from danger. This is basically a harem anime with the genders switched around to target a female audience.
Ironman
I don’t think Ironman needs any kind of introduction on FG. The anime adaptation will begin airing on October 1 and will be 12 episodes long.
Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (My Little Sister Isn’t That Cute)
I have previously written on Ore no Imouto, and now the anime is finally coming out. This title seems to be one of the more anticipated ones due to the little sister in the series being an otaku. That’s surely something that I’m sure a lot of male otaku wouldn’t mind having.
