Disney Star Tours Promo Video: Hint, It Doesn't Promote Anything

Disney Star Tours Promo Video: Hint, It Doesn't Promote Anything

We’ve known for a while now that Disney will be debuting their new Star Wars attraction Star Tours sometime in 2011 and Disney representatives have said that it would be set between the two Star Wars trilogies, what we didn’t know was exactly what it would entail, now with a new promo trailer, we’re more confused than ever. In the trailer promo they say we’ll be taken away to the magical lands of Alderaan, Bespin and Endor, which sounds awesome, except for one teeny tiny fact, on Disney’s blog they specifically state that those destinations may not be included. Here’s Disney’s official statement: “We cannot confirm that you will travel Read more »

Charmed, I’m sure.

Charmed, I’m sure.

It’s always good to see licensed properties go to companies other than the Big Two, especially from television series that have been cancelled but still have a lot of life left in them. So this last week I picked up Charmed issues zero and one to have a gander. I rather have mixed feelings on these. The first thing it made me realise is that I have not seen as much of the Charmed series as what I had thought, as I could not place some of the main characters. For that matter, artistically, I did not even recognise Leo, thankfully he is named within two panels of his appearance. Read more »

Bacon Bits

Bacon Bits

It’s time to talk about our favorite food again, bacon! I haven’t eaten bacon for almost a month and I’m starting to have strong cravings. It didn’t help matters much that I just found an infographic with seventeen facts about bacon, none of which I was aware of. This infographic should be send to the butchers I frequent too, it has happened more then once that I have to explain them what kind of bacon I want. Now with the information of this infographic I can formulate it better to them. Read more »

High Five – Left Hand, Please!

High Five – Left Hand, Please!

What day is it today? Most of us will probably automatically say “It’s Friday the 13th!” Indeed, today is the only Friday the 13th of 2010. If that wasn’t special enough, today is also International Left Hander’s Day (or Lefthanders day, depending on your source). This holiday was first celebrated in August 13, 1976, due to the initiative of a group called Lefthanders International. The aim, obviously, is to further the cause of left-handers, who can be considered as minorities in this predominantly right-handed world. Read more »

Veruca Salt Says: Team Them Up NOW!

Veruca Salt Says: Team Them Up NOW!

Yes, it is I, the Veruca Salt of comic book geeks back for the third and final installation of my ultimate list of changes I’d enact in the world of comic books, if given the supreme power so to do. Today I’m talking about the ultimate team ups – dream teams of superheroes regardless of universe or publisher. These are the characters I’d bring together with a simple snap of my fingers – and quite frankly if some of these don’t come true someday, I’m going to scream! Read more »

Bangladesh Makes The Worst Hulk Movie "Ripoff" Ever!!! [Video]

Bangladesh Makes The Worst Hulk Movie "Ripoff" Ever!!! [Video]

There’s a new “Hulk movie” coming out in Bangladesh called HALKa, which I assume is the companies way of defeating copyright issues (although the Hulk “replica” doesn’t help), while still letting potential viewers know it’s based on a similar premise  to the original. One thing that stand out? This movie may truly be the worst interpretation of the series ever told. When I say it’s bad I mean worse than the 1970′s series, which I know many people enjoyed, but let’s face it, it’s pretty awful when viewed from today’s standards and I would rather still watch the original TV show than have to sit through this movie. The Man With the Golden Wii Controller?

The Man With the Golden Wii Controller?

GoldenEye was a game that had no right to be a success. Historically, games made as tie-ins or companions to movies turn out terrible because publishers have to rush their production in order to release them alongside the movie they’re based on. GoldenEye was one of the few exceptions to this rule. Its killer multiplayer modes all but defined online play for consoles. Activision is bringing it back to the Wii with a sorta/kinda remake-slash-upgrade thing. Daniel Craig lends his voice (and how awkward must that have been — remaking a game based on a movie starring a different Bond?), and now Activision is sweetening the pot by offering a Read more »

These 404 Pages Will Make You Want to…

…jump? Shout? Laugh? Earlier this month, TechCrunch dubbed Blippy’s 404 page as the “best ever.” As can be seen in the image up there, the unicorn is kinda cute, but not impressive, is it? Then again, the fun doesn’t end there. The page is actually interactive, making it a “joy” to explore the 404 page. I am not going to go into the details – go visit Blippy’s 404 page. Have fun clicking! That post prompted me to sniff around for more interesting 404 pages, and guess what I found? Read more »

Is Duke Nukem Forever still in the works?

Is Duke Nukem Forever still in the works?

Duke Nukem Forever, the forever-in-development shooter originally from 3D Realms, fell victim to the infinite perfectionism of its creative director, George Broussard. (Wired has an excellent article on the whole sordid saga.) Broussard wouldn’t stop upgrading the game to new 3D engines for years upon years, making it impossible for the game to be finished. After twelve years of perpetual work-upgrade-work-upgrade cycles, 3D Realms lost its funding, and the publishing rights for the game were lost to Take 2 Interactive in a bitter legal battle. Now, Kotaku is reporting that a popular game production house is taking over where 3D Realms left off, and might actually get the darn thing Read more »
