Well, you don’t have to be lonely anyway. New online social platform GameCrush allows male video game enthusiasts to play their favorite game with a female player who’s easy on the eyes. For $.60 a minute, you can pick your own pretty lady to play your favorite Xbox 360 or browser-based game with, and of course chat with in a small browser window the entire time.

Gives a whole new meaning to “level grinding,” eh?

There are four areas where you can have “fun” with your “PlayDate,” which is what GameCrush calls its paid female players: casual gamers are in The Arcade, hardcore gamers are in The Arena, gamers who want some tutoring from their PlayDate can go to The Academy, and The Edge (no relation to U2) is GameCrush’s very own “red-light district.” Umm… yeah.

Don’t feel too bad for the PlayDate girls; they’re all excellent gamers, and they’re getting paid $20 (or more) an hour to crush geeky, horny males. There’s even a point system which players can use to “tip” their PlayDate.

Doing my best to avoid getting on my soapbox here… Although I desperately want to go on a diatribe about how this pandering to the lowest-common-denominator of the gaming world is why it’s never taken seriously as an artform by the world at large…

But I’m not going to do it. No sirree, I am not.
