forevergeek gaming Check Out This Killer Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood Multiplayer TrailerThe multiplayer beta for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood begins one week from today (October 4th). And this trailer shows you why you should care.

For all AC fans who’ve been wondering just exactly how multiplayer would work in this universe and game engine, this video has everything you need to know, quickly and cleverly offering a taste of the various assassin types, their special abilities, the team-based class system, and more.

Wish I had time to dive into the beta, but this is more than enough to whet my appetite for AC Brotherhood‘s final release later this year.

I have to admit: i find it very hard to get excited about this one. Reason? This should have been included in Assassins Creed II. The setting is Rome. Creed II was set in Italy. In the end, I feel sort of cheated. Add to the feeling that this looks like an expansion with the price tag of a full fledged game and I am further disappointed. Multiplayer? Cool but I have heard rumblings from game testers that the control is not incredibly great and that there are several limitations that could bog down the fun.

The first Assassins Creed game was fun but grew old quickly and had several bugs. The second was a marked improvement, but the story was so utterly stupid it nearly caused me to regret the purchase altogether. I like Ubisoft. Sure, Splinter Cell: Conviction was far too short, but it was a great game. I’m looking forward to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. And the Prince of Persia games have always been fun platformers.

It is just that I expect more from games nowadays. Blame it on Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and Star Craft 2. I expect better story. Better voice acting. Better gameplay. For respect for Ubisoft, I’ll give this one the benefit of doubt. But my gut is crying foul play and my head is warning of letdown.
