Get Your Fill of Museums on Museum Day

MD top ticket clickhere 223x85 Get Your Fill of Museums on Museum DayMuseum geeks, mark your calendars!  September 25, 2010 is the 6th annual Museum Day in the United States.  This event is sponsored by the Smithsonian Media, with the aim of providing FREE access to various museums to the general public.

If you think about it, visiting museums could very well be one of the most enriching experiences one can engage in.  You can immerse yourself in history, natural history, art, science, health, and more.  It is easy to see how one can get lost for hours on end in the fascinating worlds you can find inside museums.

While going to museums on a regular basis may be for everybody, I think that Museum Day can be an exception.  If you don’t normally consider museum-going a leisurely activity, why not give it a try on the 25th of September?  After all, there are many different kinds of museums – for sure, you are going to find one that focuses on a subject that you find interesting.

Museum Day is a nationwide event, but not all museums in the country are going to participate.  You can find a list of participating museums in the official web site, though.   Here’s the best thing: entrance to participating museums is free for persons with a ticket on Museum Day.  Tickets are available at the Smithsonian Magazine, but take note that you can only get one ticket per household.  Each ticket is good for two people.

Here are a few participating museums that I think are interesting.

You guys in the U.S. –  take advantage of this opportunity!
