Gal Gun is exactly what gamers have been looking for, a unique shooter that’s never been attempted and offers something new…Oh who am I kidding, the entire point of this Japanese based Xbox 360 game is to shoot skimpy dressed school girls who like to show off their underwear, it’s about as close to triple X as you can get, without actually undressing the girls, which would probably be illegal in some way. Here’s how the game works, shoot each girl and they moan, I’m pretty sure in pleasure, but who really knows what they are screaming about, it’s all in Japanese. In any case it’s a bit weird watching Read more »

I Didn't Even Know R2-D2 Was a Gamer…
Brian De Vitis is a freaking genius. A mechanical engineering grad student from UCLA, he built this fully-functional R2-D2 replica that’s so much more than an R2-D2 replica. Hidden within its innards are ten game consoles. Yes, I said ten. There’s an NES, Super NES, N64, GameCube, PS2, PSP, Sega Genesis (which, of course, is situated atop R2′s dome), Sega Dreamcast, Atari 1800, and an original Xbox. And there are ports out the wazoo. Needless to say, he gutted most of those consoles and incorporated their parts and pieces into his astromech unit, but they all work. The pièce de résistance: a projector for playing the games. In the Future, We Will Spray On Our Clothes
This has to be one of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen. A Spanish fashion designer has worked with scientists in London to invent a seamless fabric that’s literally sprayed on your body. I kid you not. Right now, it’s sprayed through a big pneumatic setup, but it’s soon going to be available in a can. There’s a whole big scientific explanation for how it works, but the long and short of it is that the stuff is spraying fabric fibers and polymers on the body that weave themselves together and dry instantly. And yes, it can be re-worn, and even washed like regular clothes. Want to see it in action? Read more »

Caprica 1.5 Sneak Peek + New BSG Spin-off
It’s no secret that I got so hooked on Battlestar Galactica (like countless other people). Even though I got into it way late in the game, I still got awfully depressed when I finally finished the series. I bet you all had a similar experience – it was as if part of my life was over. I kid you not. I moped around for days until I got hold of episodes of Caprica, and even then, it was not the same. It didn’t make things any better that there are only nine episodes, and we all have to wait till October for the second half of the season. It’s time Read more »

House of Hulk (and other retractions)
With what promised to be an excellent series, Marvel Universe vs The Punisher had a rather disappointing end with this week’s #4. I suppose I shouldn’t have expected more, but I enjoyed the earlier issues so much that I really had raised my hopes. Even the Punisher being defeated would have been better than the ‘Everybody hates me, don’t worry it’s mutual, I’ll just keep shooting things’ ending that we were delivered. Wasn’t the Punisher, when he first appeared, a character that although we may sympathise, we should despise? What does this victory demonstrate really? Is the House of Ideas (and by extension our world) in moral freefall? In a Read more »
Wins and Fails This Week in Geek
As we roll towards week’s end, it’s time to reflect on the WINS and FAILS of this week in geek. WIN: The Walking Dead Freshly edged out of its long-occupied #1 spot of most watched trailers on IMDB, The Walking Dead‘s TV adaptation (from a zombie comic penned by Robert Kirkman – for the uninitiated) is still buzzing hardcore. It won’t actually air until Halloween, but it’s been on fire since ComicCon. It’s already been granted a second season. What else can this fledgling program accomplish before we actually see it? FAIL: Brand Secrets Microsoft’s latest mouse has been leaked on a Russian web site, and it looks more like Read more »
HRP-4 Athletic Robot. Just In Case You Have $300,000 To Waste
Kawada Industries doesn’t just want you to have a humanoid robot helper, they want you to have a humanoid robot helper that’s athletic and that’s what they’ve recently announced alongside Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Called the HRP-4, the robot is 5 feet tall, built with 34 joints and weighs just 86 pounds, 8.8 lbs less than last years model from the company, the HRP-4C fembot. I’m still not sure how the demonstration shows off the “helper” part of the robot, after all they simply had it stand on one foot, twist its waist and follow a few spoken commands. On the other hand the Read more »
Epic Mickey’s Journey
Check out this awesome new trailer for Epic Mickey, which has just been given an official release date: November 30th. This is one game I can’t wait to get my hands on (even though my feelings toward the Wii have cooled). Looks like the perfect kids game that adults will love, too. Read more »
