The Unibody Cutting Board

The Unibody Cutting Board

As an Apple fan and foodie this macboook unibody replica wood cutting board is to drool over. I have a thing with wood cutting boards, I own a unique handmade one bought on Etsy made from different kind of woods and I own a simple bamboo one. If you have a designer kitchen interior this unibody cutting board would fit perfectly in it. I’m more of a this kitchen is being used daily and not for show but the board is made of wood and wood goes with most kitchen interior. Read more »

Dolph Lundgren Will Kill A Unicorn If You Don't Use Norton Antivirus

Dolph Lundgren Will Kill A Unicorn If You Don't Use Norton Antivirus

When it comes to protecting my PC (when I’m not using my Macbook), I tend to go with the free, yet highly effective AVG. However, I might just be willing to give Norton Antivirus 2011 a try, not because I believe it’s a superior product, simply because Dolph Lundgren may try to hurt unicorns if I don’t. The commercial (featured below) is probably one of the best attempts at humor by a computer virus company to date, sure it doesn’t say anything about the product, other than the fact that it appears to have magical unicorn powers, but it at least brings humor to a rather dry subject. Get Your Fill of Museums on Museum Day

Get Your Fill of Museums on Museum Day

Museum geeks, mark your calendars!  September 25, 2010 is the 6th annual Museum Day in the United States.  This event is sponsored by the Smithsonian Media, with the aim of providing FREE access to various museums to the general public. If you think about it, visiting museums could very well be one of the most enriching experiences one can engage in.  You can immerse yourself in history, natural history, art, science, health, and more.  It is easy to see how one can get lost for hours on end in the fascinating worlds you can find inside museums.   Read more »

Palmiotti’s done it again.

Palmiotti’s done it again.

It’s taken me some time to track down the first issue of the new series of Freedom Fighters. This also brings me onto one of my most favourite topics, politics in comics. Now don’t get me wrong, I adored the first two Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters series, this was a team that deserved the spectacular relaunch they received rather than simply being thrown aside as cannon fodder as we all saw in Infinite Crisis. (I think my heart broke a  little that day, but that is a few years in the past now. In fact I don’t want to think how many years.) These two series had magic Read more »

Human Pac-Man

I have no idea why a bunch of people would spend so much time and energy creating something like this. I also know that I certainly would never have the patience to plan this sort of thing out and pull it all together. But all that matters is that somebody — the NOTsoNOISY crew — did bring 111 individuals together at a movie theater and got them to move from seat to seat for four hours in order to grace YouTube with this utterly brilliant video. Human Pac-Man is actually the fifth video in a series of “human video game performances” that these guys did. After the jump, I’ve embedded Read more »

WiiMotes That Could Be, WiiMotes That SHOULD Be

WiiMotes That Could Be, WiiMotes That SHOULD Be

The news of a sonic screwdriver WiiMote on the way for Nintendo Wii for Britons (no US release planned, sadly) as reported here this week gave me pause. Not just because it would be so incredibly, epic awesome to own one of those controllers, but because I can think of a bunch of other controller accessories and WiiMotes I’d like to see, too. The sonic screwdriver could be just the beginning. Join me on a journey of imagination, as we explore what WiiMotes could exist if Nintendo was invaded by a bunch of geeks with way too much time on their hands. Or, as I prefer to think of us, Read more »

PlayStation is 15 Years Old

PlayStation is 15 Years Old

Did you own an original PlayStation? Did you buy it when it first came out? If so, be aware: you’re dating yourself. The PlayStation 1 has turned fifteen years old. Can you believe it? Since 1995, Sony has sold more than 377 million PS1s, PS2s, and PS3s. I mean, look at the big plastic buttons and ports on that old thing. By today’s sleek & sexy standards, this thing looks like a child’s toy. But on the plus side, it was the first game console to ever use discs instead of cartridges — a format that would soon be adopted by every console maker. To celebrate 15 years of the Read more »

Fanimation: Here's Why Jabba The Hut Took Out A Bounty On Han Solo

Fanimation: Here's Why Jabba The Hut Took Out A Bounty On Han Solo

I usually cringe at the thought of a fan made animated short for movies I love, typically they are poorly constructed, lack imagination and basically suck all around, however this telling of why Jabba took out a bounty on Han Solo is actually very well produced Star Wars flick. The short animated flick tells the story of the cargo Han Solo ditched, which in turn caused Jabba The Hut to take out a bounty on his head. Listen to the voice actor who portrayed Han Solo and you’ll swear you were listening to a young Harrison Ford, while the animation gives great homage to Ford and Chewbacca’s original characters from Read more »

Surface Tension's Arcane Arcade Coffee Table

Surface Tension's Arcane Arcade Coffee Table

Are you the type who can’t enough of coffee tables?  I shouldn’t really be talking about new coffee table options – I am actually getting rid of the stuff I have now as I won’t have space for furniture in the near future, but this coffee table from Surface Tension is too good not to share.  Dubbed the Arcane Arcade Coffee Table, this beauty can be made according to your own unique preferences. It can function as a “real” coffee table, of course, so anyone can justify the purchase (well, maybe).  The kicker comes in the gaming functions.  Get ready… Read more »

Ron Howard's Ambitious Plan for Stephen King's 'Dark Tower'

Ron Howard's Ambitious Plan for Stephen King's 'Dark Tower'

This is history in the making. Ron Howard, his producing partner Brian Grazer, and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman have unveiled a wildly ambitious plan for an unprecedented film and television co-production for Stephen King’s seminal fantasy series The Dark Tower, which tells the story of Roland Deschain, aka the Gunslinger. King’s sprawling epic encompasses seven books of tremendous depth and complexity, and the notion of adapting it to the big screen has been a holy grail for Hollywood for years. Often believed impossible to film in ways that would capture the emotional power of the books, Howard, Grazer, and Goldsman have come up with a plan that they think will finally do Read more »
