There Is More to this MacBook than Meets the Eye

There Is More to this MacBook than Meets the Eye

“Once you go MacBook, you won’t go back.” So I took a little liberty with that expression, but who cares? I think that anyone who has worked on one of these babies knows that it is quite hard to go back to a Windows machine – hard but not impossible. Now, if you were to have a MacBook that behaved just like Optimus Prime and the rest of the gang, then turning it in would be a hideous thought at best. Read more »

Is Anime for Kids?

Is Anime for Kids?

If you’ve grown past your teenage years and still watch anime, you’ve probably heard this before, “anime is for kids,” but is it really? Sure, most anime fans seem to be teenagers, but does that mean that they’re the only audience that anime is targeting? Are adults in their twenties and up who still watch anime just all creepy otaku like this guy: When you think about it, it really does seem like anime is intended for viewers in their teens and younger. Take the current season’s line-up of anime series for example. There are over 30 anime series airing this fall, but how many of them feature main characters Read more »

OnLive: The 4th Major Console?

OnLive: The 4th Major Console?

The OnLive service has been around for a while now, but this week the company unveiled a major overhaul of their service and hardware that should entice players in ways that can no longer be ignored. OnLive brings PC games to your television, essentially bridging the gap between PC games and TV-based consoles. Until now, the service has been offered as a monthly subscription, but the introduction of new hardware has changed everything. Perhaps taking a page from the new, more compact and affordable Apple TV, the OnLive “MicroConsole” is coming on December 2nd (pre-orders are being taken now), for just $99. Subscription fees have been eliminated, so that now Read more »

Genus Aves Iratus (Angry Birds)

Genus Aves Iratus (Angry Birds)

I don’t own any game console, I don’t have any games installed on my computer, the only game I own and play daily is, Angry Birds. Since I got the iPhone 4 which is much faster then my previous iPhone 3G, I went ahead an downloaded the trial version of Angry Birds. Since then I finished all the levels, bought the complete app, finished all the levels and now I’m busy with the Halloween edition. Needless to say, I have an Angry Birds addiction. After passing all the levels I still have to get three stars on all of the levels in which I only got one or two stars. Read more »

The Return Of Cool, Same Bat-Time……

The Return Of Cool, Same Bat-Time……

I would be remiss if I didn’t draw your attention to this weeks’ Batman Returns and the much-debated Batman Incorporated. Now I am not what one would call a die-hard Batman fan. For me, he is far more enjoyable in team setting, with the Justice League or the Outsiders. His ‘Network’ has a reach that touches nearly every Earth-bound corner of the DC Universe. However, Batman’s fate through the Final Crisis and the Return Of Bruce Wayne was hardly the Dark Knights standard territory, except maybe in the pages of the Brave And The Bold and of course the aforementioned JLA. Still, such an experience can hardly leave a man Read more »

Microsoft Vs. Nintendo, A Showdown Of Final Fantasy Proportions [Video]

Microsoft Vs. Nintendo, A Showdown Of Final Fantasy Proportions [Video]

There’s a battle blazing right now, on one side of the spectrum is the Xbox 360 which managed to finally dethrown the Nintendo Wii for four months, after years of dominance, then there’s the Wii, the little system no one saw coming. Now to show us the true battle of those company’s is Doctor Octoroc with his “Firewall” – SNES Style FF4 ‘Evil Wall Battle’ Parody Every gamer will notice he has chosen to use the SNES Final Fantasy style gameplay, which gives a pretty good representation of the battle…at least in my twisted mind. My favorite part occurs when the Xbox 360 with Bill Gates’ face built in starts Read more »

A Christmas Carol, Klingon Style

A Christmas Carol, Klingon Style

Remember the first ever full-length opera delivered entirely in Klingon?  Apparently, that wasn’t such a novel idea as I first thought it was.  Early this morning, as I was gulping down my first cup of coffee, I saw a tweet from Neil Gaiman himself (@neilhimself).  This is what it said: “RT Absolutely not. @jenusellis: Any chance for a shout-out for Klingon Christmas Carol in St. Paul & Chicago?”  Naturally, I had to click on the link to see what it is all about.
