It looks like the Zombie Watch needs to be dusted off and returned to centre stage. This week saw what for me is the most anticipated crossover of them all; IDW’s Infestation. Now, comic veterans like us are quite used to the Transformers mingling with the G.I. Joes. Yet in a stroke of genius (and marketing of course, but I’ll ignore that for now), Dan Abnett and the folks at IDW have thrown in the original Star Trek crew, and the Ghostbusters! First shown off at CES a few weeks ago, the Hot Wheels Video Racer is every little boy’s dream come true. Who hasn’t played with toy cars and dreamed of taking video of it in-motion, from the perspective of the driver? The Video Racer has its own little camera inside, pointing straight forward where the car’s grill usually is. Press record, and the Racer will record up to 12 minutes of video. Following months of speculation and insider leaks, Sony at last unveiled its follow-up to the PlayStation Portable. It’s codenamed “NGP” (next-generation portable), which I can only assume means that Sony isn’t planning on calling it the “PSP2.” The new device is a powerhouse of hardware, with tons of cutting-edge features packed into its sleek, stylish frame. Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime Coming in March

Atari has announced that Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, the new top-down game (a la Lara Croft: Guardian of Light) in the franchise, will launch on March 23rd. Xbox Live and PlayStation Network gamers will be able to download the game that day for a yet-to-be-determined price. Sanctum of Slime is a follow-up to the original Ghostbusters video game, which was a 3D shooter. An expensive game to produce, it featured a story by the films’ writers, the likenesses and voices of the original cast, and top-notch production values. So now we know which member of the Fantastic Four bites the dust this week. I think this has to be one of the best kept secrets in comics for quite some time, certainly unlike the true identity of Monarch back in ’92, for example. Now, I do not wish to disparage the story in any way, shape or form. The build up to this moment written by Jonathan Hickman has been skilfully executed.
