Wildstorm Mourning

Wildstorm Mourning

It’s been a little over a month I think since the demise of WildStorm, announced on the back end of last year. I hadn’t realised just how much I would miss them. There was a certain arrogance in the storylines of the Authority, or StormWatch (or the most recent incarnation of Wild C.A.T.S.) that I found particularly appealing; operating on a scale only found in Grant Morrison’s JLA. Beings who could rewrite entire realities without all the drama and pathos of the Scarlet Witch in M-Day; master manipulators who could be toppled from power and even slain, yet the entire affair would only guarantee their victory. I miss that. As Read more »

The Charlie Sheen Guide to WINNING

The Charlie Sheen Guide to WINNING

Is he for real? Or is it an act, nothing but an insane blitzkrieg of self-marketing? Was he always taking this drug called Charlie Sheen? Or did he become unhinged just recently? Whatever it is, Charlie’s dropping his loony pearls of wisdom all over the place in a batty bombing run of wacked-out awesomeness. If you long to become a Vatican Assassin Warlock of your very own — a media pariah/darling who alienates friends, family, and benefactors with equal prejudice — all you have to do is talk like him. While no one could ever be exactly like Charlie, here are a few tips from around the Web on how Read more »

Speed Racer’s Mach 5 For Real

Speed Racer’s Mach 5 For Real

If you are a fan of race cars and you loved Speed Racer’s Mach 5, you can now own your own real Mach 5 car. Car maker Koenigsegg showed last year their show car named Agera. Defining the next generation of Koenigsegg and hypercars. This year they started the production of the Koenigsegg Agera R, which is very much inspired by the Mach 5. The original cartoon Mach 5 was the best race car of its time. For me the Batmobile is more of stunt and gadget car than a race car. There is only one Mach 5 and it has always been an awesome race car. Koenigsegg has yet Read more »

The Ultimate Hyrule Map

The Ultimate Hyrule Map

Legend of Zelda fans: you can’t live without this absolutely killer map of Hyrule. Nintendo’s bestselling fictional fantasy world has never looked better (or been taken more seriously) than it is in this ingenious, high-quality map. In honor of the game’s 25th anniversary, artist Bill Mudron spent who-knows-how-many hours pouring an insane amount of detail into this one giant image, which shows the versions of Hyrule depicted in the first Legend of Zelda game and The Adventure of Link. A close-up view of the map reveals that items, palaces, and dungeons are all marked on the map. For $40 plus shipping, a 24″ x 36″ print of Mudron’s amazing Hyrule Read more »

Digital Download: An Anathema

Digital Download: An Anathema

If you’ve ever been to your local game shop chances are you’ve noticed the selection for PC games is, well, pretty much piss poor. And this is somewhat understandable. Consoles have been the focal point of many gaming companies for aeons now. The PC, despite the fact that it can offer a very rich gaming experience with far more flexibility (see Marvel Ultimate Alliance, which on PC can be modded with your favorite characters, albeit not “officially”…on console, you’re stuck with the original line-up), is just not the darling of the game world anymore. So much so that I’m amazed any companies are still producing PC games, for all the Read more »

Baby Gaga Ice Cream: All Natural and Free-Range

Baby Gaga Ice Cream: All Natural and Free-Range

I don’t know about you, but rare is the moment that I will say no to ice cream. Gelato, soft ice cream, and ice cream on crepes – I will almost always take you up on your offer if it’s all about these frozen delights (and most any other dessert). Now, food geeks know that the success of desserts rests mainly on one ingredient: milk. The quality of the milk will largely determine the quality of the ice cream. What if you use the best milk in the world? Human breast milk, that is. You may be gagging from the mere thought of eating ice cream made from human breast Read more »

Sifteo Cubes make me want to play with bricks again

Sifteo Cubes make me want to play with bricks again

In today’s gaming area, innovation is pretty hard to come by. Motion controls found in our three consoles are pretty much steal the limelight and I guess we owe it to the reality that gaming is indeed a business and businesses are playing things safe. So while they rake in the money, it’s a tad harder to find more innovative ways to keep people entertained, until we found out about a set of Sifteo bricks for USD $150.00. Whoa nelly, coming soon this 2011. The bricks pretty much combine our childhood with todays wireless and accelerometer technologies. Each pack comes with three bricks with up to six being used for Read more »
