Terminator 2: T-800 Brain Chip Replica

Terminator 2: T-800 Brain Chip Replica

On April 19th at 8:11 PM, Skynet was supposed to become aware. In the Terminator franchise that day is known as Judgment Day, when the machines turns against us. On April 19th Judgment Day didn’t come obviously. Twitter though was buzzing with the fact that they day had arrived. I’m sure the die hard fans secretly hoped it would happen, just for the fascination of time travel. Sheldon Cooper even added a Skynet clause to the roommate agreement with Leonard specifying about when one friend needs help to destroy an artificial intelligence he’s created and that’s taking over Earth. As a fan of the Matrix franchise I also wonder sometimes Read more »

Play Black Ops as Buffy, Freddy, & more

Play Black Ops as Buffy, Freddy, & more

Activision and Treyarch have announced the second batch of DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops, and it’s the fanciful “zombie level” that seem to get made for every Call of Duty game. But this one comes with a pretty cool surprise. The new content pack, titled Black Ops Escalation, adds several new characters to the game’s playable roster, and you’re going to recognize them all — because they’re all people known for fighting the undead. Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar, headlines this new cast that also includes Robert Englund (Freddy Kruger, A Nightmare on Elm Street), Danny Trejo (the title character from Machete), and Michael Rooker (Merle Dixon, The Read more »

Identity Crisis

Identity Crisis

No, not the much-maligned DC series from a few years back which saw the death of Sue Dibny and the damnation of Jean Loring, ex wife of the Atom. Today sees the concluding issue of Brightest Day, and despite the return of the Swamp Thing to the main DC universe, I am finding it difficult to rouse enthusiasm for it. As much as the ending of the previous issue took me by surprise, Swampy seems somewhat out of his element here. He has never been comfortable around the capes, either as a character or for the reader. I only hope this does lead to an ongoing for the character afterwards, Read more »

Pac-Man-Like iPhone Case and More

Pac-Man-Like iPhone Case and More

Your iPhone is only as good as its case – NOT! But you have to admit that having a sturdy case to protect that treasured device of yours is an important thing. After all, dropping your phone (accidentally, of course) is probably one of your worst nightmares. Then again, iPhone cases can be found and bought practically anywhere, and it is not surprising at all to see someone else using the same design. That’s why the newest iPhone cases at Society6 caught my eye. These cases are not only sturdy but they are not your run-of-the-mill designs. Hell Tale Pink iPhone Case The main thing going for this case is Read more »

I Want a Giant LEGO R2-D2 In My Town

I Want a Giant LEGO R2-D2 In My Town

Ad agency Access wants to put a LEGO Minifigure atop the Arc de Triomphe. Or a life-sized Darth Vader holding his lightsaber as the entrance gate to your local parking garage. Seeing LEGO as a “a brand that can get away with in-your-face stunts” because there’s so much goodwill for it from the general public. In brainstorming creative ad ideas, this street-level LEGO promotion was at the top of their wish-list. The idea is to promote the LEGO brand not with a logo but with “massive LEGO sculptures” that are so big they demand that you tell everyone on your social networks about them. What makes this idea unique is Read more »

Sony Launching 2 Gaming Tablets

Sony Launching 2 Gaming Tablets

Perhaps trying to take the focus off of the colossal disaster currently happening over on PSN, Sony today announced that a pair of tablets dedicated gaming are being added to the “PlayStation Certified” line-up of products. The “Sony Tablets” will join the Xperia Play telephone as part of this product line, which will primarily play ported PlayStation 1 games. Running on Android 3.0, the two Sony Tablets are very different in design. Both come with built-in Wifi and 3G/4G compatibility, and both will run Sony-approved apps for web surfing, email, video, ebooks, and more via their touch-sensitive interfaces. Sony‘s press release on the tablets lists out these features, making the Read more »

Miss Piggy and Her New Amour

Miss Piggy and Her New Amour

Miss Piggy and I have a longstanding relationship, the details of which shall remain confidential. Suffice it to say that I could not help but let out chuckle or two when I saw Loopydave’s latest creations at DeviantArt. Armed with a pencil sketch and Photoshop, the artist just revealed one of the best kept secret affairs of all time: Miss Piggy and a Gamorrean guard. Judging by the look that Miss Piggy is giving her new love, I don’t think Kermit stands a chance – or any muppet for that matter! Just for fun, here are a couple of more drawings by Loopydave. This was drawn many years ago for Read more »

Who Took Down PSN?

Who Took Down PSN?

In a situation that for gamers is quickly growing to “Who shot JFK?” proportions, the PlayStation Network (PSN) — Sony’s answer to Xbox Live — was effectively killed by an external source sometime last Thursday, forcing Sony to completely rebuild the entire system. That’s five long days without the PlayStation Store and PS3-exclusive MMOs, which may as well be five months as far as PS3 gamers are concerned. The question on everybody’s minds: who toppled PSN? Who could have perpetrated such an all-encompassing crime, catching Sony completely off guard and dismantling such a high-profile network so effectively? How in the world could Sony even allow their network to be open Read more »

Artistic Movie Posters

Artistic Movie Posters

If you like movies, art and wall decorations you should check out Tomasz Opasinski’s work. He creates abstract posters of movies like, Inception, Tron, Black Swan and even A Nightmare on Elm Street. For a lot of the posters he uses a plain or modified munny doll. Tomasz art is very abstract and modern. If you have outgrown the standard movie posters but still like to have something movie related in you home, some of these posters are perfect. I really liked the Inception version, the movie itself has become a cult, one that will stay on the list of best movies for a long time to come. Having the Read more »
