Hey kids, there’s a new game for the XBOX Live arcade. Here’s why I love it: 1. The trial version is just as good as the retail version. So essentially it’s free! 2. It’s fun and easy to learn. 3. It’s best played as part of your party favors with 3 more friends. The objective of Tug of Four is to tug the ball to your home color. Since there are four players, you will each have to force your will to the other three players to get to the objective. Best for parties. Read more »

Rebecca Black Meets Star Wars
You know how you wish you could unsee and unhear that godawful Rebecca Black music video “Friday”? There’s not much I can do to help you with that, but some cheeky Star Wars fans got together and gave the song a geek-filled redemption. The result: Princess Leia’s “Primeday.” Filmed in the same style and using the tune of the original song, “Primeday” — which is an actual day of the week during the Empire’s reign, apparently — finds Leia belting out brilliant lyrics like, “Solo in the front seat / Luke is in the back seat / Gotta make my mind up / Which one is my mate?” What can Read more »
Fictional Characters: TRONned
Clearly, something about the Tron: Legacy aesthetic clicked for a lot of people. Since the movie’s release — heck, since way before that, even — CG artists, sketchers, and painters have been putting the Tron spin on cartoon characters, superheroes, video game characters, and much more. Here’s an exhaustive collection of more than 60 fictional/pop culture characters who’ve been TRONned, and to the best of my knowledge, these are 100% fan-made. The list ranges from the obvious (Star Wars + Tron = no-brainer), to the obscure (My Little Pony? seriously?), but I’m sure many of my finds will surprise you. There’s no accounting for taste, which I suppose is why there Read more »
Back to the Future Posters by Dave Williams
For the children of the 80s, the Back to the Future Trilogy is definitely at the top of our favorite movies list. And why not? This comedic science fiction series written by Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis made us dream of being able to do whatever it is we want – even going back in time and going back to the future. Who can’t help but love Marty McFly and Doc Emmett Brown as they bumbled around in different points in time? It is the future, and it seems that Back to the Future has not lost one bit of its luster. Late last year, Universal decided to re-launch the Read more »
Great Loss Before The Dawn
As a diehard, life time fan, thoughts of Doctor Who are never far from my mind, especially with the new season premiering in both the U.K. and the U.S. this coming Saturday. Thus it was with the greatest shock that I learnt last night of the passing of Elisabeth Sladen, better known to all Doctor Who fans as Sarah Jane Smith, companion to the Jon Pertwee Doctor, the Tom Baker Doctor and more recently having reappeared with the David Tennant Doctor. Sarah Jane was there when I very first started watching the show, returned for the Five Doctors 25th Anniversary special, and had her own spin off in the Eighties Read more »
Pioneer One: Not Lost in Space
Here’s a bold statement: episode three of Pioneer One may go down in history as one of the most program-revolutionizing episodes in a series, ever. In this episode we saw a complete gear shift – characters were fleshed out and brought to life in a hitherto unexplored fashion, giving far more depth to the show on the whole. The actors, whether under some adjustment of direction or simply achieving comfort in their roles, seemed to blossom and take a giant step forward towards achieving their potential. In some cases, such potential was revealed where it had previously not been clear. Before I go any further into my review, I must Read more »
The justinCase. Protect your iPhone and your private parts
As an iPhone 4 owner I’ve tried many cases to protect my precious device. Apple’s iPhone 4 Bumper is a nice addition which shows off the beauty of the phone, but fails to truly protect the phone in the event of a drop. Not good given my penchant for dropping phones. The BoxWave Keyboard Buddy Case is another favorite of mine, offering the ability to use a slide-out keyboard on the iPhone 4. Unfortunately, while adding an extra layer of utility and protection to the iPhone, the Keyboard Buddy adds size to the iPhone. Definitely an annoyance. Read more »

Minimalist Movie Posters
Less is always more. Don’t believe me? Take a look at these movie posters by artist Matt Owen. He uses an iconic image that’s central to the film to create posters that brilliantly sum up what the whole thing’s about with just a few colors and shapes. Most of his posters come from 80s movies, though there are a few more modern entries here and there. If you like what you see here, head over to Matt’s blog, where you’ll find several dozen more. Be sure to bookmark it — he adds new entries about once or twice a week. I chose some of my favorites to show here… Which Read more »
The Only Superpowers Chart You’ll Ever Need
I just got done watching X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Dark Knight for the nth time. As is usually the case with mutant and superhero movies, I found myself reading up and thinking about superpowers – what I would want to have, why, and so on. You know how the mind wanders… Then I saw this jaw-dropping poster about all the superpowers that have ever been in existence. When I say jaw-dropping, I mean jaw-dropping. This is no ordinary chart. It contains more than 100 powers and abilities – some of which you might have thought existed only in your wildest dreams. Not only that, but you will also see Read more »
