You are looking at a Facebook “Like” button made of LEGO bricks. But this is no ordinary MOC. This particular LEGO creation is hardwired to Facebook and has LED lights on the inside. The result is the LikeLight — a device that lights up every time someone clicks on the “Like” link on a particular Facebook page.
It can be made to work for any Facebook page; at the time of this writing, it’s apparently wired into Lil Wayne’s page. The device was made by an ad agency called Red Pepper, as a social media experiment, using an Arduino microcontroller, an Ethernet connection, and some simple PHP code. I’m not sure what the real-life applications are for something like this… I suppose it could be a nifty conversation piece in a bricks-and-mortar store or restaurant, constantly blinking whenever a customer Likes that business.
