Remember “Bungie Aerospace,” that new trademark registered by the makers of Halo? Sadly, it’s not in any way related to Bungie’s mysterious new mega-franchise. It’s not related to air and space travel, either. So what is it? Not what you’re guessing. Read more »

The Awesomeness that is Army of Darkness Defense
You can’t possibly question it. Army of Darkness was one of my favorite cult classics. So when we discovered that Army of Darkness Defense was available on FREE TO DOWNLOAD for a limited time (as of this writing it still is!), there was no question about it: It was my turn to defend the Necronomicon. You star as Bruce Campbell’s most memorable B film character — the time traveling Ash — department store salesman brought back to a medieval age to help the humans defend their castle against the evil Deadite constructs. The Army of Darkness franchise is very much alive making its first crossover in Marvel Comics. This time, Read more »
Whoa! Never Seen David Tennant Like THIS
Scrape me off the floor with a spatula! I never knew David Tennant — aka the much-loved and respected 10th Doctor on Doctor Who — could look so grungy and bad-to-the-bone. To all the ladies out there: you’re welcome for this. Read more »
The Sound of Tau
If that title sounds or looks familiar, then it is probably because we had a similar post earlier this year, courtesy of Robin. Around the time we celebrated Pi Day (I am assuming you guys ate your fair share of pie in March), musician Michael John Blake released his interpretation of what pi sounds like musically. Now we all have heard or read the side of Michael Hartl, the brains behind the Tau Manifesto. Just the other day, people subscribing to the superiority of the constant tau celebrated Tau Day. In spite of the fact that I hold Pi Day in high regard, as I said in my post, I Read more »

AutoWed. Importance of marriage reduced to some spare money and machine
Marriage. The formal definition of the practice is, “Marriage is a social union or legal contract between people that creates kinship.” Sounds so special, and it most certainly is, to some. Unfortunately, nearly 50 percent of all marriages in America end in divorce, and a new, coin-based, method of getting married, Concept Shed’s AutoWed Wedding Machine may result in those figures to rise even higher if the marriage method is made more official. Cosmic Jollies, Feeding The Hunger
I don’t know about you, but since the demise of the Guardians Of The Galaxy, I have really been missing some truly cosmic space opera. The Annihilators mini-series bridged that gap for a little while, but my space opera addiction is a hungry beast, and needs feeding. Regular readers will be aware that I am very much a fan of the Legion Of Super-Heroes as well, yet the current relaunch of the original pre-Crisis (or at least pre-Five Years Later) Legion is not filling the gap for me. Maybe I have been burnt too many times with endless reboots. I loved Five Years Later, although the fan base didn’t seem Read more »
Asterisk Superheroes (or Superhero Asterisks)
Superheroes are very much part of our daily lives, and even if they may not be real (at least that’s what the adults say), there are those of us who know better. This fascination with superheroes is something that can be explained with a wide range of rationalizations, but I prefer to simply enjoy what I can get. From books to TV shows to movies to discussions with friends to dreams (yeah, I sometimes dream that I am one superhero or another) – these encounters are usually enough. Then you get depictions of superheroes which you do not see everyday. Polish designer Filip Łysyszyn is a genius for asterisk-ing superheroes. Read more »
$50 for Unlimited Movies at the Theater?
It’s strange and serendipitous that I stumbled across this news the day after I posted about those weird new moving seats that some theaters are trying out. Or maybe I’m subconsciously searching for this stuff just because I find it interesting. Either way, this is a good one: Would you be willing to spend $50 a month for all-you-can-watch movies at the theater? A new startup hopes so. Read more »
