Duke Nukem Forever Cocktail

So the game that you all have been waiting for – Duke Nukem Forever – will finally see the light of day tomorrow, June 14 – in North America, that is. In other parts of the world, people have been playing the game for three days now. After waiting for more than a decade, fans will have the “closure” that they have been seeking. Whether you end up being disappointed, or you like the game no matter what, I am pretty sure that you will have more fun if you play while downing this cocktail that the guys at The Drunken Moogle have concocted. Black Rock Shooter: The Game

Black Rock Shooter: The Game

The growth of Black Rock Shooter as a franchise should be an inspiration to any artist hoping to make it big. It started out as an original character design by the artist huke, and it was later used as the basis for a song by the group Supercell. That led to several music videos and Black Rock Shooter eventually ended up with its own anime, produced by the studio Ordet. While it really is something for a single illustration to lead up to an anime, it has the problem of not having a set storyline. The anime tried to put something together, but the general consensus was that it was Read more »

E3: Scenes From the Show

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be at E3, then this one’s for you. Courtesy of Twitter and its many users, here are over 130 candid shots taken on the show floor at this year’s E3, and uploaded immediately to the popular social network. Some of them are better in quality than others, but regardless, it’s a fun, fascinating look at the glitz and excitement of E3. Read more »

The 25 Geekiest Google Doodles

The 25 Geekiest Google Doodles

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, Google is an undeniably geeky company. So when some of the world’s biggest computer nerds get their geek on, some pretty cool stuff can happen. Stuff like the “Google Doodle,” aka the stylized home page logo that Google occasionally produces to commemorate a historic day or event. There have been hundreds of Doodles since the company launched in 1998, and Noemi’s post this week about the interactive Les Paul Doodle inspired me to search through the Doodle archives for the 25 geekiest Google Doodles ever. New McFarlane Walking Dead Action Figures

New McFarlane Walking Dead Action Figures

With the TV series “The Walking Dead” being picked up for a second season, and “first looks” being shown left and right, toy maker McFarlane’s announcement of two new action figures couldn’t have come at a better time. Earlier this year, in February, McFarlane already announced its line of action figures – from both the comics and the TV series. Here’s one of those action figures, which never fails to turn my stomach each time I look at it (don’t ask me why I keep looking anyway). It’s a Zombie Lurker, by the way. The two new action figures are little more easy on the eyes. Here’s the one of Read more »

Highs And Lows

Highs And Lows

Now, no one can deny it has been a big news week for comics. From the announcement that Valiant is relaunching itself, even without the properties of Solar, Turok and Magnus; to the ‘it’s not a reboot, honest’ promotions of the new DCU titles in September. Or rather the DCnU, as it will be called for about five minutes. The relaunch of the Valiant stock is one I eagerly await, as there are some really strong characters in that universe, such as the Eternal Warrior, or Rai. Yet Solar, Man Of The Atom and Magnus, Robot Fighter did rather form the spine of the universe; so it will be interesting Read more »

Google Doodle Pays Tribute to Les Paul

Google Doodle Pays Tribute to Les Paul

Everyone knows about Google Doodles by now, but that fact doesn’t make the experience of discovering the new Google Doodle any less fun. Earlier today, when I woke up, the first thing I saw on my screen was today’s Doodle, which is a tribute to guitar legend (among other things) Les Paul. Born Lester William Polsfuss on the 9th of June in 1915, Les Paul is best known for the solid-body electric guitar. Enthusiasts will tell you that this guitar is what made the sound we know and love as rock ‘n roll possible. And every guitar player – aspiring or accomplished – will know a Les Paul for what Read more »
