What’s better than A Song of Ice and Fire miniatures? Game of Thrones LEGO minifigs, of course! Now I understand that this is a debatable point, but one cannot deny that the thought of those characters from the incredibly complex story portrayed in LEGO is totally exciting. I actually cannot believe that I hadn’t seen this collection earlier – it has been on Flickr for about a month now; but since we’re all without new episodes of Game of Thrones, I thought it would be fun to take a look at these Game of Thrones LEGO minifigs. Technically, I think it should be A Song of Ice and Fire Minifigs, Read more »

Cellcraft is the most complicated point and click game ever made
Reality check: Middle school was an uphill climb especially when it came to the life sciences and basics of chemistry. Don’t get me wrong — I enjoyed the books about plants and animals, but that came much later on, right after the study of cells, which is essentially Biology 101. It’s something you HAD to go through to move on to the more interesting stuff. Fast forward: more than 20 years later, Cellcraft is born. It’s one of the more complex flash based games I’ve seen that really takes you through the first few chapters of your Life Science book, explaining what cells are, how they function and what their Read more »
Robot Mouth is the Freakiest Thing You’ll See Today
There’s something to be said about robots and how they can definitely be used to make our lives better. Like this mute quadriplegic who was able to scratch an itch by himself for the first time in 10 years. Imagine not being able to scratch an itch! I would go nuts. Then there are those robotic creations that I am just not so sure about. Like this robot mouth created by professor Hideyuki Sawada from Kagawa University in Japan. There really is no better description than that – robot mouth. The robot is a mouth. A robot mouth. I am still feeling the remnants of my freaking out as I Read more »
Will You Pay to Play Used Games Online?
EA, Sony, THQ, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros. Interactive have all announced plans to start charging for “Online Passports,” which will be required purchases for players who want to play with used game discs. Specifically, these $10 passports will be needed to play multiplayer games (like Ubisoft’s Driver: San Francisco, pictured above), but there’s nothing to keep publishers from using the same policy for singleplayer campaigns in the future. Astarotte’s Toy – Review
A 12 episode anime produced by Diomedea, Astarotte’s Toy is perhaps one of their less popular titles. With a setting based loosely on Norse mythology , the story focuses on Astrarotte, the princess of the Kingdom of Ygvar, and Naoya, an unemployed single father living in Japan. Astarotte is a succubus from the realm of monsters and now that she has turned 10, she must start assembling her harem. Not only that, in the future, she will need to drink the semen of men in order to survive. Disgusted by the thought, she declares that she will only have a harem with a human male in it, something that hasn’t been Read more »
Gaming on a 20-Foot Screen
Fleet Commander is a student project by one Arthur Nishimoto, of the University of Illinois. Nishimoto has created an RTS (real-time strategy) game based on spaceships from Star Wars that’s played on a touchscreen the size of a wall. And there’s no limit on the number of people that can play it. Read more »
