Loose Ends And Voodoo Dolls

Witch Doctor #1

Well, I’m lying about the voodoo dolls, but what’s the first thing you think of when you hear the phrase ‘Witch Doctor’? Shrunken heads? Skybound Entertainment with Image Comics released Witch Doctor #1 a couple of weeks ago now, but I only just picked up a copy. Now, plot wise I don’t think it’s anything we haven’t seen before, from the days of Mister Monster to the recent teenage occult investigator Doc Macabre. That is not to say that this is not fun, it most certainly is. Lukas Ketner’s art is a treat to behold and conjures a mood halfway between the old EC comics, and the numerous Nineteen Forties’ Read more »

So, while we wait for the remake of Ash’s time warp into the medieval era, it might not be a coincidence that Read more »

Continuity Issues

Transformers #21 - The beginning of Chaos!

The DC universe is not the only fictional universe out there that suffers from continuity issues. Let’s be honest, have you tried to figure out Transformers? Let’s see. Just in the comics alone, there’s the original Marvel UK continuity that includes the original cartoon series (which I must confess, I still possess a great fondness for), Dreamwave, and IDW. Yet even that nice, simple original continuity split into two, the British version, and the American / Japanese version. Then these split once more into Generations One and Two, the second becoming it’s own continuity. This is not to mention the Beast Wars, that remaining confusing even after I watched the Read more »
